GASHAR PHUKHANG GESHE LOBSANG WANGYAL MAKHAMPA

Geshe Lobsang Wangyal Makhampa (former member of parliament of Tibetan Government in Exile) expired on 21st of January 2014 at 5:30PM at the
age of 86. Geshela is in a state of Thuktam for an indefinite period at Gaden Shartse Phukhang Khangtsen.

Today is the day and still there is no sign of decay nor smell from the body.

Thuktam is a rare form of Buddhist Death Meditation during which the body is dead but the mind believed to be alive meditating in the body. During
Thuktam there is no sign of body decay or smell what so ever. There is no medicine or anything applied to the body nor nothing done to preserve the
body yet the body remains almost fresh during Thuktam which may last for days, weeks or even months; something that has no medical explanation and
something that has astounded scientists.

Geshe la was suffering from hypertension and Diabetes but lived a normal life until two months ago when geshela suddenly had a stroke and was
admitted to hospital for 2 months in SDM Dharwar. Since then Geshela was bed ridden and lost the ability to speak.

During his lifetime, Geshe la always lived a very simple and a humble life with no property or posession.

Brief History of Geshe Lobsang Wangyal Makhampa

Geshe la became a monk at the age of 15 at the then Gaden Monastery in Lhasa Tibet. Geshe la also fought against the Chinese army during Chinese
