When participating in the creation of our responses for group activity #1 whether it was

out of nerves, or even circumstance of the assignment I felt the need to code-switch. I knew that

in this scenario I had to change the way that I needed to write and compose my ideas, to fall in

line with my question about linguistic terrorism in a way that I could approach it in writing (Ted,

2018). In a way that would make it easier to understand what I was trying to answer as well as to

provide the correct details for the question. The linguistic patterns that shifted when code-

switching in this rhetorical situation was how I wrote as I decided to take a more serious tone of

writing and provide details on how a situation similar to that of what happened in the reading

happened to me which is something I usually wouldn’t do with writing like that. (Ted, 2018) But

I knew that it was needed to get my point across for this scenario causing me to code-switch.

TED. (2018, February 9). To Code Switch or Not to Code Switch? That is the Question. |
