The first major assignment I think allowed me to look over my literacy journey and identity over

the years, whether how it was when I first started writing up until now. I didn’t understand the
amount of power I held when it came to writing, I always felt limited when it came to writing
like I had to follow a certain way or set of rules when it came to writing but this assignment
allowed me to understand that I like writing and I had power when I was able to write what I
wanted. These topics of identity, power, and literacy were something that I never thought about
before this class as I always had this fragmented relationship with it so I didn’t like thinking
about it. I learned about my journey and how outside factors or people such as literacy sponsors
helped me along my journey to become the writer I am today. I applied these concepts to my
assignment as it felt like it was a summarization or even an analysis of my journey I picked apart
the portions of the journey that had a sizeable effect on my literacy practices and power,
explaining how they affected my practice and my power.
