Mrs. Dawkins is scheduled to have cataract surgery on September 30, 2023. The letter provides information to alleviate her worries about the operation. It explains that cataract surgeries are usually very successful, the cataracts will not grow back, and she will need to stay in the hospital for 1-3 days for monitoring and drops. It also notes that new glasses may take some time to get used to as her eye adjusts to the new prescription, and generally smaller frames are better than large, heavy frames after surgery.
