REFLECTION ON BULIANG NUJING ALSO KNOWN AS A BAD COP
By KAI JIANG
Kai Jiang is the director of the 2016 film Buliang Nujing,
also known as A Bad Cop (Law Enforcement). The instructor,
the only witness in the case of the two missing girls from the
school, is being protected by a police officer who has to
pose as a high school student in order to stay undercover. In
order for the teacher to testify in court, she must keep him
safe.
You can guess the outcome of the story in the first minute of
the film. I was surprised to learn that there is romance in this
comedy-action film, which I had initially assumed to be just
that entertaining. I appreciate that there are a lot of turns in
the film, so you have to really pay attention and comprehend
it. Although the script was well written overall, I believe the
film’s production staff struggled to bring the story to life.
However let’s discuss how the film illustrates the difficulty of
going undercover in order to conduct research and obtain
information necessary to solve crimes. They must take part
in a number of tasks in order to accomplish their objectives
in order to solve crimes. I also came to the realization that an
investigator needs to have a solid grasp of the legal and
ethical issues in order to conduct an undercover operation
properly. They need to be good role-players as well.
Being an undercover police officer is a risky job. Similar to a
film, there are a lot of turns and twists. You never know when
the investigation is going to end or simply get started.
Furthermore, I believe that this type of policing will be
extremely beneficial in the pursuit of justice.
