Discovery Phase Our Target User: White-Collar Workers
According to Cambridge Dictionary, being white-collar means relating
to people who work in offices, doing works that needs mental rather
than physical effort.
We are choosing this target area because we are very likely to be a
white-collar worker after we graduate from university.
We then looked for some researches done towards white-collar
workers.
From a research done in 2017, we found that vitamin-D deficiency is
highly prevalent among white-collar workers (Zhang et al., 2017),
which could cause fatigue, bone pain, muscle weakness and mood
changes like depression.
These may not seem severe or deadly, but the symptoms are very likely
to be ignored by our target populations since they are busy working on
their jobs. If they keep ignoring the symptoms and do not get any
treatment, the complications caused by Vitamin-D deficiency can be
fatal.
Empathize stage
Method: Users Interview
We prepared questions for adults about their health status. Also, we used 5 Why’s approach to uncover the
true underlying causes of the health problem. In the end, we leave an open-ended discussion for people to
talk about their needs. The followings are two examples of our interviews.

-How many meals do you have per day?

Prepared Questions -Do you often eat vegetables and fruits?
-Do you take in health care products such as Vitamins E or lutein ?

Q1:Why do you think you are facing a health problem?

A1:I have gained too much weight recently
5 Why’s Approach Q2:Why are you gaining too much weight?
A2:I have eaten fast food and prepared food recently.
Q3:.....

Define stage
According to the research of empathy stage, Most target users are unable to get enough nutrients from their daily diet for
personal reasons such as short income, lack of time and thus are unable to meet their health needs. How to quickly
replenish the body’s daily nutritional needs and research how different nutrients address the specific requirements of
different target groups are the problems we will focus on for the rest of the project.
We prepared health-related questions for our target personas, and we employ the 5 Whys method to identify the root
causes. The result is that they all have different degrees of physical discomfort and changes, such as weight loss, insomnia,
frequent fatigue, etc.
The problem is that due to the fast pace of today's society, the amount of effort people put into their career is not
proportional to their physical health. Everyone is working hard to make their lives better, but neglecting their physical
health. The idea and goal of our plan is to restore the health of all people without delaying their career development, while
making a contribution to society.
