the animated film genre. The movie is an adaptation of the book How the Grinch Stole

2018. The poster drew the attention of original fans since the film was first released in 1966, then

filmed live in the 2000s, and was now being done fully animated. In this animated film, the

iconic yellow-green, cat-like Grinch takes center stage, becoming the emblematic figurehead of

the movie's promotional poster, an unforgettable symbol of the timeless tale. Surrounding him is

a wistful town, Who-Ville, that is bright with Christmas joy and shows it with a Christmas tree

that overlooks the whole town. In the 2018 Grinch poster, the masterful use of visual elements,

such as the focal point, color palette, and point of view, creates a compelling genre

representation, capturing the essence of the classic Dr. Seuss tale while infusing it with a

contemporary cinematic edge.

In analyzing the Grinch poster, the first thing that captures attention is the Grinch
