This thesis explains The Effectiveness of The Telegram BOT in Improving Student's Writing
Skills in Narrative Text at The 1st Grade TKJ of SMKN 1 Luwu Timur. This research aims to
know the effectiveness of the Telegram BOT in improving writing skills for the 1st grade TKJ
students of SMK Negeri 1 Luwu Timur. The kind of this research is pre-experimental research
that focuses on one group. The population is the 1 st-grade TKJ A at SMKN 1 Luwu Timur in the
academic year 2022/2023, which consist of 29 students. The researcher took out sampling with
Purposive Sampling. Samples used, 14 students. The researcher gained the data with pre-test,
treatment, and post-test. Next, the researcher analyzed the data of this study by classifying the
student's objective score, scoring the student's pre-test and post-test, classifying the student's
score, and calculating the: mean score, standard deviation, significant tests, and standard value of
the data using SPSS 22. Based on the result of data analysis, the researcher found the effectiveness
of Telegram BOT in improving writing skills in the narrative text at the 1 st grade TKJ of SMKN 1
Luwu Timur. The data analysis shows that the mean score of the student's pre-test was 51,78, and
the mean score of the post-test was 74,72. The standard deviation of the pre-test was 12,503, and
the standard deviation of the post-test was 8,879. It means that Telegram BOT effectively
improves students' writing skills. Telegram Application recommended increasing the student's
writing skills since the material suits the student's level. Telegram BOT is also recommended as
the teaching medium because most students sometimes spend time with their gadgets and the
internet.
