This research was conducted to know the effectiveness of Marungko Approach in reading
attainment of selected non-readers. We are aiming to provide evidences and to give knowledge
about the effectiveness of Marungko approach that will benefit the following:
Parents. This may serve as their knowledge on how their children excel in school.
Teachers. This study will serve as feedback. This may guide them to choose if they will
Education Students. This study may guide them in their future profession
Future Researchers. This study can be used by the future researches in their future
schools to improve the reading and pronunciation skills of the students from grade one and to
improve their reading achievement. The goal of this strategy in reading is to enable grade one
pupils to instill in their minds to appreciate the songs and poems created for Filipino children
and eventually to communicate in written and oral forms through effective reading instruction
(udyong.gov.ph).
the students from Parsolingan Elementary School The study wanted to determined the level of
reading performance of forty-one (41) Grade 1 Learners using the Marungko Approach in
Parsolingan Elementary School for the school year 2019-2020. They conducted questionnaire
and reading performance evaluation and distribute to the respondents. The Results showed
that the level of reading performance of Grade1 learners using the Marungko Approach was
very satisfactory with an overall weighted mean of 16.629 along phonemic awareness, reading
in isolation, reading in context and reading comprehension ( Santos, C. M., & De Vera, G. M.
2020). The result show satisfactory result and it proves the effectiveness of Marungko Approach
