Reflection 1

1.Historical Antecedents in the world

•The rise of ancient civilization paved the way for advances in science and technology.
These advances during the Ancient period allowed civilizations to flourish by finding
better ways of communication, transportation, self- organization, and of living in general.

2.Stephen Colbert's Interview with Neil Tyson

• Dr. Tyson said, my thoughts shifted a little. He said that knowledge empowers us to
react, meaning it encourages us to do something, especially when we think that action
needs to be done, and I think that is so incredible and terrifying at the same time. It is
almost unfathomable how even a tiny piece of information can affect our point of view
and how it can drive us to make a change. After going to Pennsylvania those thoughts
immediately vanished; that was such a simple moment of discovery, but that simple
discovery changed his point of view to the point that it is now his life, learning and
discovering what is beyond us and the world.

Dr. Tyson said, we should promote curiosity because the only way we can ever truly
learn is by asking questions. We do not get answers just by looking at something; there
are times when we have to do experiments to understand more. I firmly believe that by
doing this, we will be able to advance and achieve more than we already do.

3.Field of earth Sciences

•Earth scientists analyze the physical and chemical processes that link all of these
domains and those of the Earth's interior. They characterize the internal and external
energy systems that drive and have driven these fundamental processes.
Understanding our Earth has now become essential to humankind's existence.

4.Importance of Technology
• In my opinion, the most important technology of today is the internet. It has completely
changed the way we communicate and get information. It's also made the world a much
smaller place, allowing people from all over to connect with each other easily.

5.Scientific Method
• The Scientific Method is bound by definition and by practice to what is real. This backs
the very notion of what it means to be scientific. Many scientist underestimate how
limiting this is. Reality excludes our imagination, perception, and intuition. Science can
never be about one person, nor a group or individuals, and its only intuition is to quickly
dismiss all of us-- and the mindful, the intentional, and the living.

6.The World's Greatest Invention

• The internet is certainly the most significant technological advancements in human
history. It haa revolutionized the way we communicate, access information, and conduct
business. The internet has also played crucial role in the development of many other
technologies such as online education, social media, which have transformed many
aspects of our lives.

7.Vector and Scalar quantity

• Vector quantities give not only a value, but a direction. While Scalar quantities are
simply values, like the length of a line.
