I’m gonna help some of you guys out there to get yourself familiarized about the latest things

happening in this generation by rickrolling you non-stop in your DMS just kidding. But we will know
everything about Rickroll from Its origin or revolution, who was the first person to get rickrolled, and
what Rick Astley feels about his song being famous for the past decade.

Rickroll is hyperlink bait on when you click a link it takes you to a video called never gonna give you up
by rick Astley. It baits you into thinking and expecting that it’s the literal thing and site but basically,
it’s not. Of course to show respect for the man behind the whole thing let's get to know Rick Astley a
little bit. In the early 1980s when rick was a teenager, Rick and a few of his friends started a band
called F.B.I. And one night when FBI was performing at a local club. It just so happened that Pete
Waterman, a songwriter and a member of the Stock Aitken Waterman, was there and was amazed by
Rick's unique voice that made him sound like a grown man. Thus he got his first opportunity in the
music business which is a song called when you gonna, a duet between him and Lisa and then he got
his next opportunity via a song called never gonna give you up. 4 things served as the building blocks
for rickroll. First is in 2005 the song never gonna give you up featured in an episode of it's always
sunny in Philadelphia called Charlie has cancer premiered. The episode and the song grew in
popularity on the internet because of it. In 2006 a Michigan native named Erik Helwig (who boldly
claimed that he is the first person to rick roll someone) called in on his local radio sports talk show
and instead of talking to the DJ about sports he just played the song never gonna give you up. Also in
2006, the creator of the internet forum fortune Christopher Poole aka moots implemented a word
filter that would replace the word egg with duck. Thus the Duckrolling was born when someone tried
posting about an eggroll when the word filter changed it to duckroll. Rickrolling is similar to
duckrolling which is using a hyperlink text to pretend they were sharing something interesting and
someone would click on it only to find the duckroll picture. And now in 2007 when the first trailer for
grand theft auto IV (a game) was released there was so much traffic that the site crashed and
someone on 4chan (an anonymous English-language imageboard website.) used the same bait and
switch duck roll method saying the link he gave is a link to the grand theft auto 4 trailer only for it to
link to the music video "never gonna give you up" And thus rickrolling was born. And its popularity
continued to thrive in decades from 2008 to this year. The meme rickroll was used in movies, trailers,
links, games, and even in public. The first-ever person to probably get rick rolled, Bryan the broker,
(which is said to be the first person to get rick rolled) must be feeling proud. The same goes for the
person who rick rolled youtube last year on twitter.
