Course Description

This course is designed to give students a flavor of the introductory topics to management and organizational behavior which

would enable to them to analyze organizations and study them both at the company, group as well as the individual level. The

course is divided into three modules:

• Individual behavior in organizations: attitude, emotions, personality, perception, ethics and motivation.

• Interpersonal behavior: teamwork, leadership, power and influence.

•Organizational factors affecting behavior: strategy formulation and implementation, functions of management, reward

systems, culture, and organizational design.

Class participation

observation, and then arrive at your final CP. Final veto is mine, although I am quite democratic

Term Project (Report & Presentation)

 Students will form groups of 5-7 (depending on the class size). These groups will be decided by the Instructor (Since
this is Organizational Behavior and Management, Students must learn to work with individual who are not their
friends)
 The project will explore the application of one or more concepts learnt in the course.
 Students will be required to conduct primary and secondary research to demonstrate understanding of the concepts.
 The primary research may be conducted through interviews/questionnaires/observations or any other tool.
 The students will search at least 4-5 articles/papers on the topic to form the basis of their secondary research.
 The students should discuss and seek written approval on the proposed topic and company to study with the instructor.
 The report including the final presentation will be 10% of the Grade.
 The students will prepare a report based on the information collected. The report will be of 3000-4000 words (10-12
single spaced 12 font pages) excluding the appendix.
 At least one fully transcribed interview should be attached in the appendix and summary of other interviews and
individual contributions page. The appendix may contain any material which shows the effort and time put by the
students.
 The final submission should also contain a one-page summary.
 The report should be properly referenced.
 The instructors would monitor the effort by the students throughout the semester through progress reports and input by
the members.
