Where it is located: United Kingdom, The Brecon Beacons range is made up of the mountains

south of Brecon, The highest peak of them is Pen y Fan (886 m) The Brecon Beacons are named
after the ancient practice of lighting fires as a signal (lighthouses) in the mountains to warn of
attacks by the English, or more recently to commemorate public and national events such as
coronations or the Millennium. The national park was created in 1957, being the last of the three
Welsh parks; Snowdonia was the first in 1951, with an area of 886 km

Climate. The temperate season lasts 3.1 months, from June 11 to September 14, and the average
daily maximum temperature is more than 16 °C. The warmest month of the year in Brecon
Beacons National Park is July, with an average high temperature of 19°C and low of 11°C. The
cool season lasts 3.9 months, from November 19 to March 17, and the average daily maximum
temperature is less than 8 °C. The coldest month of the year in Brecon Beacons National Park is
February, with an average minimum temperature of 1°C and maximum of 6°C

Other visitors come to walk through ancient woodlands to get a glimpse of the spectacular
waterfalls. It’s also one of the best areas in the UK to see rare species such as the red kite, a bird
whose distinctive silhouette can be seen in the skies throughout the year. The Uk valley is also

Of the several attractive market towns, perhaps the most unusual is Hay-on-Wye. Mostly in
Wales, but with a handful of streets over the border in England, this unusual town with a
population of just 1500 has no fewer than 24 bookshops, and a literary and arts festival every
summer. Visitors can also stay in one of the many hotels in the region, which offer breathtaking
views, perfect for those on their honeymoon or celebrating an anniversary.
