First and foremost, technological innovation has increased automation in manufacturing. With
the help of computers and machines, many labor and repetitive jobs have vanished with
technology that brings greater efficiency and fewer labor costs. Manufacturing companies have
to deal with human error which produces large losses. However, by implementing automation
companies will see a surge in increased profits and reliability. For example, now you may see in
stores such as Dollarama and Walmart you will see self-checkout stations. So rather than
staying in line waiting your turn. You can use these machines that work quicker than cashiers as
they add up your items instantly rather than the cashier pushing numbers or scanning.
Along with that technological innovation has brought improved communication drastically. One
person begins to talk to someone on a different continent. Communication in the workplace has
become fast, reliable and interactive. This inturn improves productivity among workers and with
the help of the internet employees can work on projects outside the office. Technology also
helps in securing the systems and data. Reducing breaches into business to steal confidential
data. During the Covid-19 pandemic when we were locked down many businesses had to shut
down and lay off many employees. As a result, millions of jobs were lost, the price of necessities
goods skyrocketed and millions of Canadians were isolated. During that time students continued
learning through online classes. If it weren’t for technological innovations like D2L and Google
Classroom then there would’ve been a major disturbance in students' education, especially
those who were graduating to go to post-secondary.
