Barangay Fort Bonifacio

Introduction

Barangay Fort Bonifacio, a barangay in Taguig, Metro Manila, is home to the infamous

Bonifacio Global City (BGC), arguably one of the country's most significant economic centers.

Since it's considered to be one of the nation's oldest cities, it was formerly a fishing and

agricultural area before developing to an urbanized metropolis that has multiple tall residential

buildings, top-notch lodging establishments, and prevalent entertainment venues. Furthermore,

the city boasts a wealth of historical sites, tourist attractions, and cultural attractions (Estacio,

2021). Currently serving as the barangay chairman is Jorge Daniel S. Bacobo, who understood

immediately that he intended to serve his community regardless of the fact he was raised in a

comparatively wealthy town in Alabang. His barangay comprises a number of less well-known

areas and localities, and it is his goal to make sure that the general well-being and requirements

of the residents of these regions are not overlooked (Castillo, 2021).

Background of the Barangay

With a land size of 465.3 hectares, the Barangay is inhabited by an anticipated 20,000

citizens. It is separated into eight zones: Bonifacio Heights, Consular, MiniPark, Secondary, and

the reputable BGC (Bonifacio Global City) commercial sector are among them. Zones 1-4 are

also incorporated. Furthermore, the Barangay is home to the Gat Andres Bonifacio Elementary

and High Schools, five childcare establishments, and one medical facility. In terms of corruption

and dynasties, there isn't much to say in the barangay. Moreover, there is indication of women's

participation in the barangay as four of its elected officials are women: Helen V. Lara, Vilma S.
Padua, Emma R. Alcantara, who serve as Kagawads, and Maricris H. Palma, who is the SK

Chairwoman (BARANGAY FORT BONIFACIO, n.d.).
