Demo Teaching Lesson Plan

BIG IDEA/OBJECTIVES:
To outline the life cycle of animals and to analyze the life cycle of a specific animal,
today’s focus is frog.

WARM-UP (Duration: 5 minutes)

Showing the picture of a frog

Throw questions: “What animal is this?”. Expected answer “A frog”.

“Where does the frog live?”. Expected answer: “In the pond”.
[Explanation frog is amphibian which can live on land and in water]

“What does the frog eat?”. Expected answer: “Insects or small worms”.

“Have you ever seen a frog?”. Expected answer: “Yes”.

“Where did you see a frog?”. Expected answer: [various answers]

“How does a frog jump?”. Expected answer: “Jump”.

“What sound does a frog make?”. Expected answer: “Croack, ribbit”.

MAIN ACTIVITIES (Duration: 20-25 minutes)

Showing a picture of frog life cycle

Explain about the first stage which is frog’s eggs by showing the picture. Frogs start their
lives as an egg.

Explain about the second stage which is tadpoles. Show the picture. Tadpoles hatch from the
eggs.

Explain about the third stage which is froglet. That after a while the tadpole begins to grow
legs. Show the picture

Explain about the fourth stage which is adult frog. Tadpoles grows bigger and its tail
disappear to become adult frogs. Show the picture.

CLOSING (Duration: 5 minutes)

Closing will be doing a bit of review about the previous lesson been taught by asking a very
simple question throw picture about the last stage of a frog life cycle.
