I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Identify the different habitats of animals;
b. classify animals according to their habitat; and
c. develop an understanding of the importance of animal habitats.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


A. TOPIC: Animals in their Habitats
B. REFERENCES: Science for Smart Learners book 3 (pg. 122-132)
C. MATERIAL: Visual aids, laptop, tarpaper, scissors and tape.
D. SKILLS: Critical thinking, Participating and Identifying.
E. VALUES: Taking care of the animals.

A. Routinary Activities

Good day! Grade 3 learners! Today, is


another day for more learnings. I’m Keren
Hiedezel Roxas your teacher for today. (Hi teacher!)

1. Opening Prayer

Before we start, everybody stands up and let


us pray. May I call on ________ to lead us the
prayer. (Pupils stand up and bow their head)

“Lord, thank you for this wonderful day you


have given us, we are now asking again for
your guidance and give us peace of mind so
we can understand our lesson for today.”

“What am I”. The mechanics of this game is
you will read and understand the riddles and
identify what animals is being describe in
each riddle.

3. Motivation

Alright, lets play a game!

This game was called “Tournament” I will


divide you into two groups. Each group will
be given an envelope. As I flash the different
pictures of animals, you will identify their
habitats using the flag inside each envelope.

The blue flag represent the sea.


The yellow flag represent the grassland, and
the green flag represent the forest.

in their habitats.

Habitat is the environment where living


things can survive.

Alright, Those animals that you’ve mentioned


are called domesticated animals.
When we say, domesticated animals. These
are the animals under the care of humans.

Example of domesticated animals are; dogs


and cats which can be seen at homes.

Do you have farm in your house? (Yes, teacher)

What animals you see inside the farm? (Chickens, pigs, goat, cow,)

Very good!

That is also one of the domesticated animals.

Now, Have you ever seen a wild animals


before? (Yes, teacher)

Where? (I’ve seen a crocodile teacher at the zoo !)

What else? (I saw a snake teacher)

Snakes, lion, tiger, and crocodiles are called


wild animals. They are dangerous animals that
we should must avoid.

Class, Wild Animals these are animals live


without human influence. Such as;

Lion, tiger, crocodiles, snakes, and etc.

Different animals live in different habitat. As


you can see inside the zoo animals there are
separated with the wild animals.

Now I have question.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THEIR (If their habitat is destroyed, animal will lose
