The Black Belt Creed: 2 minutes
Warm Ups: 3 minutes
● Utilizes different exercises ● Make it fun ● Keep it short and sweet
Review Focus Anchors: 3 minutes
● Remind the students of the expectations. ● These focus anchors will help the class run smoothly. ● Have a minimum of 3 focus anchors ready for use. (See C.I.T Manual for focus anchors)
1st Drill: 10 minutes
● Split into 2 parts each 5 minutes long. ● The 1st part will have the 5 levels of Instruction. [ This is where you will teach them the technique] ● Keep it simple and concise. [ to many words gives room for boredom] ● Part 2 is practicing the technique on the equipment, their partners, etc. ● Utilize creativity but do not sacrifice technique. { For references check drill 4 skills on instructor university}
Mat Chat: 3 minutes
● Utilize instructor university to see what section of the mat chat we are on for the week ● Position yourself where both parents and students can hear you.
2nd Drill: 10 minutes
● Have 2 drill prepared that is a continuation of the previous technique they learned ● Utilize more Drills 4 Skills.
3rd Drill: 10 minutes
● Use Cycle of Instruction to teach a new technique. ● Again 1st part Keep it Simple and Concise. ● 2nd part practice the technique. ● Leave them wanting more.
Bow Out: 4 minutes
● Reiterate mat chat, Remind Students when Homework is due, and give announcements.
