PROCEDURES
Preparatory 1. Prayer
Activities 2. Greetings and Word of the Day “Nobody can discover the ocean, unless you lost sight of the shore.”
3 minutes 3. Checking of Attendance
5. State the objectives of the lesson to the class.
Activity 1 Present a short video
10 minutes Then present the definition of terms to be copied by the students
Activity 2 Briefly discussed the different terms for the students to familiarize
The teacher will show some pictures of the different measuring tools for the students’ to identify
Then the teacher will use a power point presentation to present the Do’s and Don’ts of handling the measuring
instruments/tools.
And finally, discussed linear measurements for the 6 faces of lumber
Analysis The teacher asks the students the following questions:
5 minutes 1. What are the different measuring tools used in carpentry?
2. How can you make sure accuracy of measurement?
3. Why is it important to know how to handle the different measuring tools?

Abstraction Ask students about how important it is to identify and select the appropriate measuring tools and how to use them?
5 minutes
Application Prepare different sizes of lumber and let each student quickly get the measurements of them.
30 minutes

Assessment Direct observation and monitoring of students while on work


2 minutes Have a paper and pencil test

Assignment Preparing for the new Calculate the number of Concrete Hollow Blocks to be used in a 1 meter square area.
