INTRODUCTION NPC

A note from your author...

Have you ever felt like a forgotten ruin?

Yesterday was my birthday, and a tragedy in life

is when those you love forget it’s your birthday.

I’ve felt this tragedy, but what I find far more

devastating is when I forget the birthdays of the
people I love!

Maybe you feel forgotten today.

Maybe you feel like parts of your life are in ruins.

Cheer up, and have hope, because there are

millions of players around the world waiting
with excited anticipation to adventure through
the treasure lying within the forgotten ruins of
this book.

On this fact, I’m here to tell you there is treasure

inside of your mess.

There is priceless treasure within you that has

yet to be uncovered.

You just need to equip your adventurous eyes to

search for it.

If you don’t believe these words, then believe

me.

Because I know the One who put it there.

Enjoy.

Sincerely,
Your NPC, Assassin

2. Interactional
This brings us to the interactional segment of
building your forgotten ruin!

In this segment, we’ll cover four things:

A) Passwords, B) Traps, C) Treasure, and
D) Resources.

A) Passwords
Imagine a door inscribed with magical runes
that require a password to gain access!

Maybe it’s a machine door instead of a magic

one, making it immune to “dispel magic”...

What if the runes asked a certain question,

and the correct answer would open the door?
Perhaps the wrong answer might trigger a trap!
(See the next segment for those!)

Included in the following pages are

nine riddles of varying difficulty each
with answers you can use as queries
and passwords for your magical
doorways in your forgotten ruins!

These riddles should be plenty, but

if you want access to ALL my riddles,
then check out my compendium I
compiled specially for GM’s, called
“Ancient Riddles.”

What is it that’s
blind with an eye
in its head, but the
race of mankind its
use cannot spare;
spends all its life in
clothing the dead,
but always itself is
naked and bare?

50
I’ve stabbed
more dead beasts
Than any
man’s sword
I’m simple
to craft
But I belong
with a lord

51
I’ll make you hum
I’ll make you swing
I’ll make you numb
To every sting

52
No one can hold
me in his palms
or sight; I scatter
sudden clatter far
and wide. I want to
hammer oaks with
mournful might;
Yes, I strike
sky and scour
countryside.

53
Oft I must strive with wind
and wave, Battle them both
when under the sea I feel out
the bottom, a foreign land. In
lying still I am strong in the
strife; If I fail in that they
are stronger than I, And
wrenching me loose, soon
put me to rout. They wish to
capture what I must keep. I
can master them both if my
grip holds out, If the rocks
bring succor and lend support,
Strength in the struggle. Ask
me my name!

54
My house is not quiet, I
am not loud; But for us
God fashioned our fate
together.
I am the swifter, at
times the stronger, My
house more enduring,
longer to last.
A times I rest; my
dwelling still runs; Within
it I lodge as long as I
live. Should we two be
severed, my death is sure.

55
The one who makes
it, sells it.
The one who buys
it, never uses it.
The one that uses
it never knows that
he’s using it.
What is it?

56
When set loose
I fly away,
Never so cursed
As when I go astray.

57
I’m told a certain
something grows in
its pouch, swells and
stands up, lifts its
covering. A proud
bride grasped that
boneless wonder, the
daughter of a king
covered that swollen
thing with clothing.
