 Many issues for muslim travelers regarding Hotel Service and Islamic Travelling
Practice.

 Required to choose one of the hotel or resort in Malaysia then correlate the issues.
Introduction

Muslim travelers often encounter various issues related to hotel services and
Islamic travel practices. These challenges may include finding halal food
options, prayer facilities,understanding cultural
sensitivities, service, staff, facilities at the hotel, and entertainment. Additionally,
issues like gender-segregated facilities, privacy concerns, and adherence to
Islamic principles in the overall travel experience can impact the satisfaction of
Muslim travelers. Exploring these issues and seeking solutions contributes to a
more inclusive and accommodating travel industry for diverse cultural and
religious needs.

T-Hotel is one of the hotels that can be associated with issues related to service,
food and beverage, room, entertainment, facilities, recreation and staff because
this hotel only gets low reviews from people who go there. Many issues are
related to unclean rooms , the room is small and the wifi does not work. In
addition, the staff also dress not in accordance with Islamic syariah. Although it
is close to the city, it does not show a concept that is suitable for Islamic
traveling.
Analysis

1. Service

The service offered by T-Hotel does not attract the interest of tourists from Singapore due
to the small and unclean room space. This tourist stated that the heater does not work and
the wifi does not work. Although the receptionist told that this hotel is not like that but he
did not care because every hotels must provide comfort to users and efficient service.
2. Front Office

T-hotel also got comments from tourists about the front office not being helpful. The TV
channels were also not working to be used. In addition, the hotel staff also did not want to
help because there was not enough housekeeping. this matter needs to be overcome
because good service needs to be sufficient for a hotel based on Islamic concepts and to
satisfy users.
3. Food and Beverage

T-Hotel does not practice the Muslim friendly hotel principle because it allows alcohol to
enter the hotel and can smoke cigarettes just like that. Users are uncomfortable because some
parties drink alcohol and smoke while making noise. Even though the hotel has been told, the
hotel does not take any decisive action in fact, it is not friendly when you have complained.
Hotels should restrict alcohol from entering the hotel because hotels usually adopt the
concept of Muslim friendly to provide comfort to all users. Food and Beverage must be
halalan toyibban because every hotel in Malaysia needs to adopt the concept of Islamic
traveling where only Only halal food should be brought into the hotel to respect the Muslim
users.
4. Room

The T-hotel user said that his wish for this hotel was very disappointing after arriving at
the first entrance because it smelled bad. In addition, the room also smelled bad with the
walls almost falling down, spots all over the room, the bed was smelly and the toilet
facilities provided also smelled worse. bad with fungus all over the room. This should not
happen because usually the hotel will first check the rooms that do not provide comfort to
the user and continue to repair if any damage occurs. This kind of thing needs to be taken
early action so as not to cause problems for the user to use the facilities and consumers
are also satisfied to sit in a hotel.
5. Entertainment

The user said that the entertainment is not satisfactory such as the TV which is too small
on the wall above the head so it is not suitable to watch. The TV broadcast also only
broadcasts Malaysian channels and the picture is bad. This matter needs to be changed
because the hotel needs to add appropriate broadcasts. with the concept of Islamic travel
such as adding Al-Hijrah broadcasts for users in hotels for Muslim users. In addition, the
TV also needs to be upgraded to make it more satisfying for users to see it.
6. Facilities

This is one of the most negative comments from tourists who have stayed at the T-
Hotel. There are no road signs and prayer rugs in the hotel rooms, which is a
disadvantage for muslim tourists. This does not coincide with islamic traveling which
needs to provide basic prayer equipment for muslim tourists such as Qibla direction
Signs, Prayer mats and Al-quran for tourists to easily perform worship. The hotel
needs to improve its facilities. Not only can this increase the number of muslim
tourists but it can also increase the hotel's rating to a higher level.
7. Recreation

These are among the negative comments related to the gymnasium at the T-HOTEL
hotel . A gymnasium that coincides with muslim traveling is a separate male and
female gymnasium. This is to protect the aurat of women who should not be seen by
non-mahram. it can not only increase sin but can make it possible for unwanted things
to happen such as touching between men and women. This is also intended to keep
the male gaze from seeing things that are forbidden in the religion of islam.

8. Staff
T-Hotel should adopt a dress code that is suitable for use in Islamic traveling such as
wearing a hijab and not wearing a skirt. especially for staff who are Muslim. Usually the
staff wear clothes that have been covered by the hotel but a hotel organization must also
follow the Islamic syariah that wears polite and closed. The staff should also have a
friendly attitude towards the users in the hotel to facilitate a matter if there is a problem.

9. Other
The hotel can provide iftar packages to muslim tourists because it can
increase hotel revenue. the hotel can also make buffets throughout the day
for Muslims to break their fast at the hotel with family or friends. it can
also make it easier for muslim tourists to eat and pray after eating because
they can pray in the room after finishing eating. so the muslim tourists do
not miss to fulfill the fardu maghrib.
CONCLUSION

In conclusion, meeting the demands of Muslim tourists in the hospitality sector entails
tackling a range of concerns pertaining to Islamic vacation customs. Paying attention to
elements that fit with Muslim visitors' cultural and religious preferences is necessary to
provide a warm and inclusive environment for them. The availability of prayer facilities,
halal food options, alcohol-free areas, privacy and gender segregation, understanding Islamic
etiquette, providing precise Qibla information, Islamic financing options, cultural sensitivity,
family-friendly amenities, and the creation of Islamic travel packages are important factors to
take into account. By include these components, hotels may improve the entire experience of
Muslim visitors, encouraging a feeling of comfort and consideration for their particular needs
