How to stop deforestation?

According to recent research, forests cover more than 30% of the Earth’s land surface. These forested areas
produce oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide and are home to 70% of land animal and plant species. Also, forests
are a source of food, medicine and gas for a lot of human beings. Forests are an important natural resource, but
humans have destroyed significant quantities of forested land.

One of the most dangerous effects of deforestation is the loss of animal and plant species due to their loss of
habitat. The removal of trees reduces available food, shelter, and breeding habitat. As a result, animals may not
be able to find sufficient shelter, water, and food to survive within remaining habitat. Another problem of
deforestation is changing climate. Because forests store a large amount of the world’s carbon dioxide,
deforestation contributes a lot of global greenhouse emission. When forests are burned, the carbon gets released
into the atmosphere. Climate change leads to dangerous weather events such as drought, storms, heat waves and
destroy the places animal lives.

The problem of the deforestation could be solved by planting trees. This is the most straightforward personal
strategy to fight against deforestation. By planting trees, one is helping to fight global warming because trees
absorb carbon dioxide. Also, one is helping to reduce run off water from the hills. Another solution, which
would help prevent deforestation – recycle paper and cardboard. According to recent research, one ton of paper
put to recycle prevent the cutting of 17 trees. These 17 trees reduce around 115 kilograms of carbon dioxide
from the air every single air.
