Part 2: Instruction Preparation


Class Context: This class consists of 21 first grade students. Two of the students are learning English, and both demonstrate solid
conversational English skills but often require support for academic language. Two students have an IEP, and one has a 504
plan. There is two paraprofessional present for the small group portion of this lesson.

Rationale: In previous lessons, the students have worked with pointing out different counties and learned how to spell Delaware. They
have built a foundation for understanding the state. In the most recent lesson, students were introduced to the shape of

Reflection:

As an educator, it is
important to reflect on As Delaware’s lesson concluded, I noticed a few things. One of these things was that everyone continued to get the counties mixed up so
