ii. State and Discuss the Need for People with
Integrity in the Society.
CONTENT:
EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE WITH INTEGRITY IN THE SOCIETY
There are many examples of people of integrity in Nigeria and they
belong to different sectors of the society. These men and women
occupy positions of trust and responsibility. Some of such people are:
1. Tai Solarin: He was an educationist and persistently called for
public accountability and investment in the development of young
people.
2. Mallam Aminu Kano: He was a politician, an educationist and was well
known for his great concern for the upliftment of the poor.
3. Professor Wole Soyinka: A prolific writer who believes in good
governance and he used many of his literary works to address some
of the ills in the society.
4. Teachers: They ensure that adequate knowledge is impacted on the
students and are emulated because they speak the truth and carry
out their responsibilities notwithstanding the situation.
5. Obafemi Awolowo.
6. Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.
7. Ahmadu Bello.
8. Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe
(Are all foremost Nationalists who fought for Nigeria
Independence)
9. Professor Dora Akunyili
10. Dr. Sarah Adadevoh.
11. Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
