ACADEMIC POLICY

Policy on submission of fraudulent academic documents for admission:


Students found to have submitted fraudulent academic documents, i.e., transcripts, for the
purpose of admission to a degree program at NYIT-Vancouver, will have their admission
cancelled and may be disciplined or expelled upon confirming that the documents submitted
were forged. It is the responsibility of the applicant/agent to make sure the documents
submitted during application process are not forged.

Clear understanding about the program


Before submitting application for admission, applicants must understand they have an in-depth
knowledge about the program they are applying to. They must also have clear understanding of
the curriculum structure and future prospect of this program they are applying to.

Master of Business Administration (m.b.a.)


The Master of Business Administration program at New York Institute of Technology - Vancouver (NYIT) is recognized
around the world for its high standards in business education. At NYIT-Vancouver, students have the option between a
General M.B.A. and a General M.B.A. with a Concentration in Finance. The M.B.A. program offers great opportunities
for both new graduates and experienced professionals to pursue their career goals.

The NYIT-Vancouver M.B.A. Program


The program is open to all qualified students regardless of their undergraduate major. It is approved in New York and offered in
Vancouver under the written consent of the Ministry of Advanced Education in British Columbia. The NYIT M.B.A. program
is also among 5% of business schools in the world that are accredited to the AACSB International – The Association to
Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Courses are taught by academically and professionally qualified professors in
Vancouver as well as faculty from NYIT’s New York campuses. By focusing on the application of modern business theories to
problems that managers face in the public and private sectors of today’s global economy, the curriculum emphasizes career-
oriented technologies and practice that provide graduates with a competitive advantage.
Students receive personal attention given by outstanding professors with hands-on experience from the business sector. With
NYIT’s presence in both Atlantic and Pacific gateways in New York and Vancouver, students can benefit from opportunities
to pursue a high quality, career-oriented business education with a global edge.

Intakes & Duration


There are three (3) terms in every academic year; Fall (15 wks, Sep.–Dec.), Spring (15 wks, Jan.–Apr.), and Summer (8 wks,
May–Jul.). The General M.B.A. is a two (2) year program, but students may be able to complete it in less than two years if
they are able to waive courses. The M.B.A. with a Concentration in Finance takes longer as this program consists of more
credits.

All NYIT-Vancouver applications are done online and require a non-refundable $50 USD application fee. The application process

Once you have paid the fee, upload the following documents:
• Four (4)-year Bachelor’s degree certificate
• Transcripts from each semester of your four (4)-year Bachelor’s degree
• Any transcripts or certificates received beyond your Bachelor’s degree program
• Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL or IETLS)2
• 1–2 page resume or C.V. (recommended)
• GMAT score (if your overall GPA is less than 3.0 on 4.0 scale)
• Statement of Purpose (recommended)
• A copy of your passport
• Two (2) letters of recommendation from professors who are familiar with your undergraduate work (recommended)

International students are strongly encouraged to apply at least six (6) months prior to the start of their desired
intake term to accommodate the processing of their study permit application with Canadian immigration.
Original documents must be presented to campus officials for verification during new student orientation.

[3] The NYIT-Vancouver Admissions Department will determine how many credits a student must take to complete the M.B.A. on a case-by-case
basis. Once applicants submit their complete application materials, Admissions will inform them how many credits they must take to complete the
M.B.A. and total tuition amount. Total credit requirement depends on whether a student is able to waive courses; generally those with Bachelor
degrees in Business can waive credits towards the M.B.A. Students pursuing M.B.A. with a Concentration in Finance are required to take an
additional six (6) credits. International students must take 19.5 credits + Technical Communications per year to qualify for Full Time status (6 credits
+ Technical Communications in Spring + 6 credits in Summer and 7.5 credits in Fall). If you have earned a bachelor degree from an English speaking
country such as Canada or the U.S., you are eligible to apply for a waiver of the Technical Communications course.
[4] For two (2) years. Amount does not include other fees or tuition fees for any prerequisite or bridge courses that may be required. Two-year tuition fee
