Good morning and happy Tuesday, Grade 9 students! Good morning, Ma’am!

That’s good to know my dear students.

Alright! Thank you, Miss Secretary!

Class rules:
As we go on with our lesson, I just want to remind you of my 4 CLASS
RULES.

1. SPEAK ENGLISH AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. I want you to express


your thoughts and opinions in English. As your language teacher for the next
two months, one of my goals is for you to improve your oral and written
communication skills in English. Nothing to worry because I am not expecting
all of you to speak in English perfectly. It is just part of our practice and no
one will laugh at your if ever you commit any grammatical errors or lapses.
Exemption: You can always freely ask in Filipino if you have any doubts or
questions regarding our topic.

2. GADGETS ARE NOT ALLOWED. No using of gadgets in this class.


Please keep your phones, earphones, tablets and such inside your bag. You
can use it during your free time.

3. CLEAN AND GREEN. Put all your trash inside of your bag for the mean
time and throw it away in trash bins during your break. Make sure to pick up

all the litters around you so we can maintain the cleanliness of your room.

4. SIT PROPERLY, LISTEN TO ME AND EYES ON ME. I invested a lot


of my time in making your lesson material so I want all of you to focus on our
lesson so you can get the utmost understanding of the topic I will discuss to all
of you.

How about this consists of several scenes and can run for a long length in a
performance? Scene, Ma’am.
What features a brief situation of action and dialogue?
‘Setting, Plot, Structure, Characters, Conflict, and Theme, Ma’am.
What are the six elements of one-act play?
Introduction or Exposition, Rising action, Climax, Falling Action, and
How about what are the five parts of a Plot? Conclusion.

STORY GRAMMAR:

 It is the parts or elements of a story. What it exactly includes varies
depending on what program or teaching protocol you're using, but it
often includes things like character, setting, problem, solution, or
feelings. It can also include things like plot, climax, or suspense.
 It’s a technique which classifies the components of a story and
specifies relationships among its parts.

What is it for you?


 It aims to improve readers comprehension in reading by giving them a
framework they can use when reading stories.
 It provides with a framework to help them understand narrative texts
and includes common elements such as plot, character, setting, and (Asking concept checking questions regarding about the topic throughout the
theme. discussion and the students will give their insights about it.)

CHARACTER ANALYSIS SKETCH


 It simply means a description or analysis of a certain character telling
the reader about their physical appearance personality traits, habits,
strengths, weaknesses, and history amongst others.

We will start it with the Title of the play on top.


We will now put 4 columns under it.
First column will be the characters. When we say characters, it will start with
the “WHO” question. These are the people involved in the play.
Second column will be the Setting. When we say Setting, it will start with the
“WHEN” and “WHERE” questions.
Third column will be the Plot. Episodes are the just like short summary of the
play based on your own understanding of the one-act play.
Lastly, the fourth column will be the conflict. The problem that happened in
the story.

Tips in doing a character sketch:


1. List down all the characters involved.
2. List down all their traits (characteristic patterns of thoughts, feelings, and
behaviors.)
3. List down all the evidences. Proof for the traits you listed.
4. Part of the play where it was revealed.
