FARM SPELLING BOARD GAME INSTRUCTIONS

Objective: A storm is coming and the animals are in the Pasture. It


is your job to get through the board game and get them to safety
in the barn. The first person to get their animal to the barn wins.

Materials Needed: Game Board, Dice, PIcture key, Spelling List, Game cards, small
animal figurines, paper, and a pencil

Before you start:


Look over the Picture key to know what picture goes with each word
look over the spelling words
SepArate the game cards based on the number on them
Pick your animal figurine

How to Play:
1. PLayer 1 rolls the die. the number they land on is how many
spaces they moved forward. that number is also the type of
card they draw. Example: If they roll a 1, they would move 1
space forward and make a sentence with the spelling word on
the card.
2. the other players will check player 1's work to make sure it
is correct.
3. repeat the first two steps, taking turns, until there is a
winner.
4. THe winner is the first one to get their animal to the barn.
Spelling List and Definitions:
1. Agriculture- the science and work of raising crops and farm
animals; farming
2. Calf- a young cow or bull
3. Calves- plural of calf
4. Cattle- large mammals raised on farms or ranches for their
milk or meat
5. Crops- plants grown on a farm
6. Harvest- the gathering of ripe crops, the crops or the
amount of crops gathered, or the season in which they are
gathered
7. Herd- any group of cattle or wild animals that feed and
travel together
8. Manure- the waste matter of animals, such as cows and
horses, used to fertilize the soil and help plants grow
9. Pasture- a piece of land on which animals are put to graze
10. produce- to bring into being, to make or manufacture
11. provide- to give what is needed; supply
12. rooster- an adult male chicken
13. tractor- a powerful motor vehicle with large tires used to
pull plows and other farm machines
14. wheelbarrow- a small cart with one or two wheels in
front, two legs at the rear, and handles for pushing
