Validation of a Learning Module in Trigonometry

for Grade 11 STEM Students

ABSTRACT

This study primarily aimed at validating a learning module in Trigonometry for Grade 11
STEM students at Bataan National High School-SHS during the School Year, 2019-2020.
The learning module in Trigonometry was validated through the following indicators:
Objectives, Format, Organization, Language, and Usability. The study was limited to select teachers
and experts in Mathematics. The select teacher-respondents were the Senior High School
mathematics teachers who were currently teaching and have taught Pre-Calculus during the School
Years, 2017-2018, and 2018-2019 and the select expert-respondents were the JHS and SHS Master
Teachers and Head Teachers in mathematics, and the Education Program Supervisors in
mathematics. A total of fourteen (14) senior high school teachers and sixteen (16) experts validated
the learning module from the Divisions of Bataan and the City of Balanga during the School Year,
2018-2019.
The data were statistically treated using frequency counts, mean, and standard deviation.
Likewise, it also included the significant difference in the assessment of the teachers and experts as
validators using T-test.
Findings revealed that the learning module have met the criterion very highly in terms of
objectives, format, content standards, organization, language, and usability. Though in most cases,
significant differences in the evaluation of the groups were favored by many, the results only
confirmed the factual state or condition of the developed module on Pre- Calculus as viewed by the
teacher and the experts in the field.
In light of the findings and conclusions, it was recommended that the proposed learning
module on other parts of the spiral curriculum can be used as another module-making study. The
other set of respondents may be used by future researchers to make another set of ideas or interests in
module making.
