Stacy Mosel argues that substance abuse specialist, “Alcohol is the second most widely used
substance in the U.S... evidence subject that even drinking within recommend limits may
increase a person's overall risk of death from various causes...” (Effects of Alcohol on the Body).
Alcohol is not healthy for anyone; it has shocking damage to the human brain, cells, and mood
changes. By drinking that horrible poison, it not only affects themselves, but it also affects the
people around them and is not healthy for anyone. Alcohol is a crime, it hurts people or
themselves because they have been drinking too much and put them in jail, prison or life
sentences. Alcohol drinkers see alcohol as a normal drink, but they don't see how much damage
it causes and if people stop drinking this, people do not have to suffer and are healthier.
The effects of alcohol on people's body do not bring positivity in it. It damages
everyone's brain cells, and the worst part is that it cannot be fixed. It is permanent, meaning
people that drink alcohol won't be the same anymore. By just drinking a sip of it their life
changes forever, people think that alcohol doesn't do anything, but they are wrong, ill damage
many vital organ systems in their body for example: Liver causes permanent damage, Kidney
disrupts hormones that affect the function. The heart increases the heart rate and expands the
blood vessels, making more blood flow to the skin. The brain alters mood, slowing down

reflexes and affecting balance. It also contributes to learning, memory, and sleep problems.
Digestive results in abdominal pain, bloating, and diarrhea. Underage drinking is also bad, when
drinking it experiences several detrimental effects on their developing brains and bodies like
impaired memory, disrupted growth, brain changes that last throughout life and other more
(Mosel 25).
Effects on the people and around them too are always going to be around. When people
are drunk, they do not control their feelings or how they act, and it is something normal when
being like that. For example, if people around the person that is drunk do something dumb, that
person gets aggressive and start attacking, by doing that, it causes a huge problem that even
police shall be involved in. In Pregnancy Stacy Mosel declares, “In fact, use of alcohol during
pregnancy is a leading preventable cause of developmental disabilities and birth defects” (24).
When the baby is born, it going to have disabilities because of drinking, and it can even kill the
kid. Alcohol weakens the immune system, that is something important because that protects all
the cells and organs. If that is damaged, then the body starts to get weak. When the immune
system is weak it causes an increased risk of diseases and infection like pneumonia, tuberculosis,
crime in any way by robbery, car accident, child abuse, sexual assault, and other more. Anon
states “Alcohol can play a significant role in criminal activities, with excessive
drinking having the ability to lower inhibitions, personal judgment, risk of aggressive behavior,
and that can be bad for the country.” Because alcohol being dreadful, innocent people die

because those drunks cause the accident without notice and it is heartbroken for the family who
lost their loved ones. Car accident is the top of fatal death and including drink driving it puts it
by 31% (National Highway Traffic Safety Administrative). Almost all fatal crashes are
adolescence because they can be drinking while driving at night, or they get hit by a drunk
driver.
People have to agree to stop drinking that poisonous substance it kills people and hurts
others around them, is not healthy for the body because it can even give people overdose that is
when they drink a lot of alcohol it goes to peoples bloodstream causing the areas to shut down
like the brain control support functions, breathing, heart rate, and temperature control (NIAAA).
Prevent people from drinking it, save lives, and save those who consume alcohol.
