HOW TO TELL THE TIME

IMPORTANT
WORDS:
O’CLOCK
HALF PAST
QUARTER PAST
QUARTER TO

When we talk about our daily activities we also have to talk about the
time in which we made that activity. That’s why in this worksheet we will
learn the basic things to learn how to tell the time. We are going to
focus only on 4 concepts : o’clock, half past, quarter past and
quarter to.
Let's see some examples.

Basic structure:
I wake up at seven o’clock.
I get up at half past seven.
I eat breakfast at quarter past eight.
I go to school at quarter to nine.
I eat lunch at half past one
Let’s remember the numbers.
Time to practice:
Look at the clocks and write the correct time.
Look at the clocks and match them to the correct sentences.
Write about your daily routine using the vocabulary of the unit and the
time. This activity will help you to do your “TP” for the next classes so it
is important to complete this part. This will be checked and part of a
formative assessment. You can follow the example.

Hi my name is Daniela and this is my daily routine from Monday to

Friday. Every day I do the same activities when I am at school.
I get up at half past six, I take a bath and brush my teeth at 7 o’clock.
Then I go to school at half past eight. I have lunch at half past one. I
come home at 4 o’clock. I do my homework at quarter past seven and
I eat dinner at 8 o’clock. I go to bed at 10 o’clock and I go to sleep at
half past ten.
Bye!
