Modal verbs are helping/auxiliary verbs that express ideas

like ability, advice, and obligation. Many modal verbs have more than
one meaning. They are always followed by the simple form of a verb.

For example:

1. Amanda should go to the doctor.

This shows that we think it is a good idea for Amanda to visit the doctor.
Uses:
Must and Have to
Must means that the obligation to do something comes from the speaker.
In other words, it’s not a rule.

Have to implies that the obligation comes from someone else; it’s
something the speaker can’t change. Additionally, must expresses the
speaker’s feelings, whereas have to expresses, above all, an impersonal
idea.

For example:
• I have to pay the bills because my wife is ill.
• I must stop smoking. It’s really bad for my health.
