Help on getting SQL to connect with Cimplicty 6.1

I am running a XP vm and I have installed Cimplicity 6.1 and SP4 and SQL express 2008. I can not see to get it to connect to Cimplicity.
Anyone have a procedure for XP?. I had no problem on my WIn 7 and 8.2. Does a VM have an issue ?

I know how to set upo SQL server, but for some reason, i had a difficult time with it on a XP vm. I eventually unistalled
everything and started over from scratch and FINALLY got it to work. I found an old Datalogger article for 6.1 and set up the
sql with that .

What do you want to do with the SQL server? If you want it to log points and alarms, check the connections in the ODBC data
sources.

Then in the project properties > settings > Database Logger, select the right ODBC connections for points and alarms and
enter the username and password if required
