Campaigns Specialist - 12 Month Contract

About the team


The role of Campaigns Specialist sits within the Marketing & Fundraising Division
and will report into the Campaigns Lead.

The Marketing & Fundraising Division is responsible for income generation through
the channels of Campaigns, Direct Marketing, Gifts in Wills, Partnerships and Major
Gifts. The Campaigns Team, within the Mass Fundraising Unit, has a diverse
portfolio of 8+ campaigns and raises over $14 million a year. The team have full
channel responsibilities and are working to create a profitable portfolio of mature,
growth and innovation campaigns.

About the role


The key purpose of this 12 Month Parental Leave cover will be to manage and
deliver campaign plans which grow Cancer Council's supporter base, deepens
loyalty and increases overall revenue and profitability of the campaigns portfolio and
contributes to the wider Marketing and Fundraising growth strategy.
Key responsibilities of the role:

Strategy and planning

• Regularly scan the industry to benchmark activity, track trends and identify
opportunities to grow campaigns.
• Work with the Campaigns Lead to develop annual campaign plans to achieve revenue
growth and improve profitability by increasing the supporter base, improving loyalty
and conversion and extending the overall lifetime value of our supporters.
• Employ data insights to direct the plans and tactics for each campaign.
• Take a test and learn approach to new campaign propositions/brand extensions and
channel tactics to improve ROI.
• Contribute to the setting of the annual campaign budget.
• Collaborate with interstate counterparts, disseminating best practice, understanding
where we can get national efficiencies and integrating national components.

Campaign execution

• Manage the execution of channels (excl eDM and SMS), monitoring channel
performance and identifying opportunities for real time tactical changes to optimise
ROI.
• Design product supporter journeys, timings, audience selection and channel
benchmarks, with collaboration and input from Supporter Experience team.
• Manage each campaigns’ merchandise strategies to drive best return on investment.
• Effectively brief and manage agencies (website, creative, media, event and
fundraising) to deliver campaign objectives with the best ROI.
• Effectively brief and manage internal stakeholders to drive fundraising & participation
across the state.
• Manage the creation of campaign materials that are in line with the visual and verbal
brand of the organization.

Tracking and Reporting

• Work with the Marketing Insights team, Digital Team, Media Agency and Community
Fundraising to set up campaign reporting dashboards for all internal stakeholders.
• Track and manage the revenue and expenditure budget to reach and exceed agreed
financial budgets.
• Undertake regular campaign and channel reporting to achieve in-campaign continuous
improvement.
• Undertake post campaign analysis to to inform the strategic planning for the campaign
portfolio.

People Management

• Manage a Campaign Coordinator to achieve personal and team objectives.


• Support Campaigns Coordinators working across multiple campaigns to ensure
effective time management and prioritisation.

Work Health and Safety

• Follow all Cancer Council health and safety policies and procedures
• Report all known or observed hazards to Manager or Supervisor
• Take reasonable care at work to ensure your own and others’ safety
About you

Essential:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as business and/or marketing, or equivalent


demonstrated relevant experience.
• Working in a fast-paced environment and being able to multitask / work across
numerous projects at any given time.
• Well-developed planning, implementation and reporting & tracking skills.
• Ability to coordinate several projects, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience of data driven marketing skills
• Experience of working to a budget
• Experience of developing go to market plans for fundraising campaigns
• Previous experience with managing media and/or creative agencies.
• High attention to detail and good problem solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Initiative to manage own workload as well as work within a close team environment.
• Strong computer skills including good understanding and experience with excel &
online communication tools.
• Previous experience of working together as a team to achieve income targets.

Desirable:

• Office 365 experience


• Exposure with web analytics tools, particularly Google Analytics.
• Experience in fundraising strategy development and execution
• Specific experience in digital marketing (particularly social media)
• Experience in new product development
