Essay 1 draft 1

Forging the future, which is Texas state university’s college brochure is sent across state and

further to reach potential students. Texas state university sends this brochure to convince and

supply who ever might happened to find it, or receive it, with information and testimony’s about

the campus and all that it has to offer; primary target being those interested in attending a college

and need a guide to determine if this college is for them.

The Texas State University has separated sections and made sub sections using a

combination of pages, brackets, and sizes of bolded text so that it’s as smooth as possible to be

able to understand. Each page of the brochure has a major focus of its own which then breaks

down into subcategories with brackets and enlarged bolded title text sectioning them off from

each other making it easier to navigate in order to find specific information. Many of the

brackets have a color of their own and other keys within themselves. The keys mentioned just a

little bit ago are paired next to some of the text to show which programs have additional

programs, courses and or degrees. One of the keys being a half-shaded bubble representing

which majors have upper-level courses also available at Texas States Round Rock Campus.

Other than the brackets and pages theirs also the sizes and fonts of the text. Within the brackets

the text for the titles of each section is bolded and enlarged so much so it’s impossible not to
notice the difference. With these key separations and guides those interested in attending this

college can find what they need in this brochure with much ease.

admissions@txstate.edu provides information on scholarships and financial aid in order to

help potential, and new students attending the campus. Assured scholarship are awarded

automatically to students who ranked in the top 35% of their graduating class or completing the

without sat or act scores for possible merit scholarship awards, (admissions@txstate.edu ).” This

quote supports the my point by explaining criteria’s that one must be in and achieve to be

qualified for grants and the varied type of grants.

An employe who works at the campus trying to convince possible applicants to attend the

college through describing the campus and what it has to offer them. “We have two vibrant

campuses-one in San Marcos, one in Round Rock- and a variety of ways for you to discover each

through in-person or digital experiences. Both our campuses are filled with opportunities to

engage in life changing learning, creative energy and community spirit. Get your first taste of

Bobcat life as you explore our historic architecture and state-of-the-art research and teaching

facilities in the heart of Central Texas (admissions@txstate.edu).” The quote uses specific

phrases and words like, in life changing learning, creative energy and community spirit, that can

have a very persuasive stigma, in order to convince people to attend the college.

admissions@txstate.edu illustrates the curriculum and admissions to inform college

applicants which credentials they will need to apply and have a strong chance of being accepted

as well as other procedures. admissions@txstate.edu states the recommended curriculum,

English 1, 11, 111, and IV then proceeds to list all the others such as math, science, social,
foreign language, fine arts, physical education and more. Assured admissions are also listed, the

top 10% rank sat and act with no minimum scores, along with 1 st quartile through the 4th quartile

requiring act and sat scores. Program specific requirements are programs that require their own

entry requirements to be met, along with general admissions to enter. Finally, one of the most

important and first step for getting into college, the actual application. Its stated that the 1 st step

is to complete the freshman application. The 2nd step which is optional, submit an essay based on

the prompts that are provided on the applications. The 3 rd step is sending high school transcripts

or Ged certificate. The 4th step is to submit the fee of 75 dollars. The 5 th step, send official

college transcripts, if applicable. For the final 6th step, send sat/act scores. There is also a

website that can guide anyone if help is needed on how to apply and the steps in doing so,
