BACKGROUND
Machame Health Training Institute (MHTI) is a fully registered & accredited college, offering Clinical
Medicine and Nursing courses to the level of Diploma. The Institute is embarked on National
recognition as the Center of Excellence in educating health providers to enhance the wellbeing of
the whole person and of society.
The Governing Board of the Institute invites applications from qualified individuals for the following
positions;
1. TUTOR (MEDICAL DOCTOR) - 1 POST
Qualifications
Holder of Bachelor degree in Doctor of Medicine (MD) from recognized Institution with full
registration from Medical Council of Tanganyika, having being licensed to practice. A course in
teaching methodology will be an added advantage.
Main duties and responsibilities
 Conducting/ Facilitating lectures and tutorials in class rooms/lecture rooms
 Preparing handouts or other written materials for the students
 Supervision of field practices and clinical rotations of respective students
 To participate in the setting ,moderating ,invigilating and marking of examinations
 To provide feedback to the student after doing examinations
 Undertake any administrative tasks as required ,such as meetings, maintaining attendance
records on each student
 To participate in research and consultancy projects
 Perform Counselling and mentorship programs to students
 Be able to attend the patient in the Institute’s hospital as per allocated schedule
 Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the competent authority
Should not be above 45 years old.

2. TUTOR (NURSING OFFICER) - 2 POST
Qualifications
Holder of bachelor degree in Nursing (BSN) from recognized institution with full registration from
Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council, having being licensed to practice. A course in teaching
methodology will be an added advantage.
Main duties and responsibilities
 Conducting/ Facilitating lectures and tutorials in class rooms/lecture rooms.
 Preparing handouts or other written materials for the students.
 Supervision of field practices and clinical rotations of respective students.
 To participate in the setting, moderating, invigilating and marking of examinations
 Perform Counselling and mentorship for students
 To provide feedback to the student after doing examinations.
 Undertake any administrative tasks as required, such as meetings, maintaining attendance
records on each student.
 To participate in research and consultancy projects.
 Be able to attend the patient in the institute’s hospital as per allocated schedule.
 Perform any other duties that may be assigned by senior staff member.

3. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER – 1 POST


Qualifications
 Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a
related area of focus is required.
 Experience working with a diverse workforce, Communicate effectively, verbally and in
writing, to a diverse audience, Good organizational/leadership skills and attention to
detail.
Main duties & Responsibility
 Administering the hiring process, including advertising open positions, reviewing resumes,
Coordinating and conducting interviews, conducting reference and background checks, drafting
offer letters
 Coordinating the induction and orientation process for new employees
 Maintaining up-to-date personnel information and files
 Ensure availability of qualified, multi skilled staff to meet organization’s requirements and that
efficient and economic use of human resources is maintained
 Administer maintenance, interpretation and review of the Organization HR Manual
 Dealing with industrial relations matters and ensure all Association’s HR policies and procedures
are up to date in line with current employment and labour relations law
 Administering performance appraisals, promotions, demotions and redundancy of employees in
consultation with respective Heads of Departments and Sections
 Managing employee relations, absence, disciplinary, grievances, sickness etc
 Administration of staff compensation and benefits schemes
 Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate
 Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all
positions
 Administration of employee ongoing development (Trainings and Development)
 Administer staff loans and leave
 Ensure adequacy of employee safety, welfare, wellness and health
 Ensure relevant Insurance Policy cover for the Institutional Vehicles, fire, theft and life
 Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and
administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems
 Provide monthly report, and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual HR plans and progress
reports as required
 Conducting and analyzing exit interviews to determine reasons for exit and recommending
changes
 Advice on Students welfare issues at the Institution

4. PROCUREMENT OFFICER – 1 POST


Qualifications
Holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Procurement and Supplies Management,
Materials Management, Logistics Management, Commerce or Business Administration (majoring in
Procurement and Supplies Management). The candidate must be registered by PSPTB as Graduate
Procurement and Supplies Professional.

Duties and Responsibilities
 To prepare Quotation documents for various Works, in collaboration with user departments.
 To prepare Procurement Inputs relating to Works and Consultancy Services
 To invite Quotations for Minor Works.
 To prepare minor Works and Small Consultancy Services Contracts.
 To Coordinate the Quotation openings.
 To attend to Audit Queries.
 To prepare Procurement Reports and its submission on monthly, quarterly, Semi -Annually,
annually basis where needed
 To perform other duties as may be assigned by Superior.
 Review procurement documents and prepare orders
 Negotiate contracts with suppliers
 Develop and monitor cost-reduction strategies
 Develop and monitor inventory control procedures
 Develop and monitor purchasing policies
 Manage vendors Monitor supplier performance
 Meet with suppliers when needed
 Understand, analyze, and evaluate enterprise-wide procurement requirements for products
and services
 Encourage continuous improvement in competitive bidding practices
 Track and schedule all materials, equipment, and personnel purchase orders
 Track inventory levels and manage purchasing activities
 Develop and maintain inventory control procedures
 Review supplier proposals and invoices
 Develop and implement systems to monitor vendor performance
 Coordinate with staff, operations personnel, and outside agencies to ensure materials,
equipment, and services are available when needed

5. ICT OFFICER – 1 POST


Qualification
Holder of Degree in Information & Communication Technology or Bachelor in Computer Science or
Bachelor in Computer Engineering or any other related field in recognized college with at least 2
years of experience in training facilities
Duties & Responsibilities
 Conducting/ Facilitating lectures and tutorials in class rooms/lecture rooms
 Preparing handouts or other written materials for the students
 Supervision of field practices of respective students
 To participate in the setting ,moderating ,invigilating and marking of examinations
 To provide feedback to the student after doing examinations
 To provide technical support and advice as required
 To install, maintain, upgrade and repair a wide range of ICT equipment.
 Rectify problems relating to the malfunction of ICT equipment including software.
 Respond to ICT Support requests in a timely fashion to ensure minimum disruption
 Assist with the administration of the telephone system.
 Install and upgrade both systems and application software as required adhering to all
licensing regulations.
 Maintain the college’s ICT Online room booking system
 To maintain an inventory of computer hardware and software (including licences).
 Perform preventive maintenance duties on items of ICT hardware, including the cleaning of
equipment.
 To provide support for the college information management system (CIMS) and associated
software.
 To monitor and maintain general ICT consumable stock to ensure adequate supplies are
available in a timely and cost effective manner
 To lead admission procedure of the college
 To assist with the design and maintenance of the college website and digital platform
 Create user accounts for staff/students to access the college network including other
specific/departmental software used in college.
 To lead media team of the college

7. CLEANER-1 POST
Qualifications
Holder of form IV leaving certificate
Duties & Responsibilities
 Be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of designated area and for maintaining high and
consistent standards
 Report cleaning supplies requirements and stock levels to the procurement officer.
 Vacuum cleaning hard and soft floors
 Spot cleaning of spillages
 Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass
 Emptying and cleaning waste and recycling bins
 Cleaning toilets including sanitary fittings and surrounds
 Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces
 Wiping and polishing and straightening furniture
 Gardening
 Flexible with other duties allocated by his or her senior
8. COOK – 1 POST
Qualification
Holder of form IV leaving certificate with at least 3 years of experience. A Course on Hotel
Management or any other related field will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
 Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
 Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
 Cook food in various utensils or grillers
 Check food while cooking to stir or turn
 Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
 Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
 Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
 Check quality of ingredients
 Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
