INTRODUCTION
Yb containing intermetallic compounds, exhibit unusual electronic and
magnetic effects, for example superconductivity, intermediate valence, ➢ Around forty samples prepared and

The main motivation for studying the Yb-Pd-In system is derived from above phases in ternary system except
two factors and the interesting physical properties which have been for InPd
observed in the compounds Yb2Pd2In [2,3] and YbPd2In (specific heat jump at ➢ Extended solid solubility line
T ≈ 250 mK and increase in magnetic entropy at high temperature by Backscattered electron image (BSE) of ranging from InPd to YbPd2In
600 oC annealed alloy 1 with synthesis confirmed by determination of
application of magnetic field (magnetocaloric effect) [4]. The present work
composition Yb16.7Pd50In33.3 lattice parameter of compounds
describes the isothermal section at 600 oC of the Yb-Pd-In system including
the whole range of compositions with the purpose of searching new Crystallographic pattern of alloy 1 fitted with theoretical pattern of prepared along this line
intermetallic compounds having interesting properties. Pd(In, Yb). From the fitting, value of a = 3.3067 Å
