INTRODUCTION

The planning process is one of the important functions in logistics management. This study aims to describe the
drug planning process at the Pharmacy Installation at Karya Husada Cikampek Hospital, West Java, using the
ABC Critical Index. Pharmaceutical services are supporting services and at the same time are the main revenue
center. It is given that more than 90% of health services in hospitals use pharmaceutical supplies (medicines,
chemicals, radiological materials, consumable medical device materials, medical devices, and medical gases),
and 50% of all hospital income comes from managing pharmaceutical supplies. if the problem of
pharmaceutical supplies is not managed carefully and responsibly, it can be predicted that the hospital's income
will decrease. With the increase in knowledge and the economy of the community, the community's need for
pharmaceutical services is also increasing. The most important aspect of pharmaceutical service is optimizing
drug use, this should be included planning to ensure the availability, safety and effectiveness of drug use. Given
the large contribution of pharmaceutical installations to the smooth running of services and also being an
installation that provides the largest source of entry in hospitals, the supply of pharmaceutical goods requires
careful and responsible management.

BAB II
OBJECTIVE OF STUDY

The purpose of this study was to determine the drug planning process at the Hospital Pharmacy Installation.
Husada's work and making an analysis of drug needs based on the ABC Critical Index in the Hospital Pharmacy
Installation. Husada's work in 2004.
This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research with a case study approach that aims to obtain an
overview of drug planning process in the Hospital Pharmacy Installation. Husada's work and making an analysis
of drug needs based on the ABC Critical Index in the Hospital Pharmacy Installation. Husada's work in 2004.
The research was conducted at the Hospital Pharmacy Installation. Karya Husada during February and April
2005. There were ten research informants, namely Deputy Medical Director, Head of Pharmaceutical
Installation, Head of Accounting Unit, Administration of Pharmaceutical Installation/Ass. Pharmacist, Head of
Logistics, Head of Quality and Nursing Ethics, Permanent Physician (Children Specialist), Secretary of the
Medical CommitteeSenior General Practitioner, Member of KFT/Ophthalmologist/Head of Department,
Medical Support, and Internal Medicine Specialist. Data processing begins with data collection which is divided
into two, namely primary data obtained from observations or direct observation, interviews and filling out
questionnaires. The data was collected and content analysis was carried out. Secondary data obtained from data
in Pharmaceutical Installation, Finance Section and Logistics Section. Data originating from the Pharmacy
Installation are grouped based on the analysis of the ABC Critical Index. ABC Analysis of Critical Index is used
to increase the efficiency of the use of funds by grouping drugs or pharmaceutical supplies, especially drugs
used based on their impact on health. 4 Data analysis is carried out in the following steps.

C. METHOD

Primary data were collected using questionnaire and check list, and the secondary data were collected from
pharmacy unit, finance division and logistic division.

BAB III
RESULT AND FUNDING

From the results of research conducted at the Hospital Pharmacy Installation. Husada's work regarding the drug
procurement process, there are several things to consider, namely: Formulary or Standardization of Medicines
and Standards of Therapy
Maintenance of the types of drugs to be used in the Hospital Pharmacy Installation. Husada's work was adjusted
to the standardization of drugs set by KFT. This standard is evaluated every year to monitor the smooth use of
drugs ordered by users (doctors). This drug standardization is very helpful in supplying drug needs.
Before drug procurement is made, medicines that will be procured by the hospital are consulted in advance
between management, pharmacists and doctors through the KFT. One of KFT's tasks is to make a Hospital Drug
Formulary, in order to maximize the rational use of Medicines. The Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee
(KFT) is a liaison between medical personnel and pharmaceutical services in terms of drug use to achieve safety
and optimize services. Formulary or drug standardization, namely a list of standard drugs used by hospitals and
rationally selected, along with explanations, so that it is complete drug information for hospital medical
services. By using the ABC Critical Index, the results showed that out of 1007 drug items, 36 items were group
A (3.57%), 270 drug items were grouped as group B (26.81%), and 701 drug items were group c (69161 %).
