Year 8:

Students have been given knowledge organisers which outline essential areas for revision. In Year 8,
these include:

-A list of genre conven ons that students should be able to name and explain clearly.
-Useful Tier 2 and 3 vocabulary – literary devices, relevant terms and key concepts that will support
writing focused and sophisticated answers. Resources provided on MS teams
-A list of literary devices. Students will need to find relevant examples from the texts as part of their
revision.
-A list of hinge ques ons that students should be able to provide detailed answers for.

All of this content will also be found in exercise books, and students are encouraged to use these as
their other main revision resource. In particular, they should review the structure of PETAL
English paragraphs before the exam.
Students can use MyMaths to effectively revise (login details in planners)
Their mathematics exercise books will remind them of the topics they have covered so far in year 9,
alternatively they can use their topic test tracker sheets.
Assessments are cumulative so any taught maths concepts from KS2 & Y7 can also naturally occur
within questions.
Students also have access to their online textbooks through Kerboodle (MyMaths textbooks 1a,1b &
1c) all applicable to year 7 content and 2a,2b & 2c which are applicable to year 8 content - login
Maths details have been recorded in their planners for Kerboodle too
