Operator Interface Station

One of the most important challenges in the day-to-day operation

of a turbomachinery process is the effective management of the
data associated with the process. Traditional operator interface
packages are not designed to present complex data relationships
found in turbomachinery processes in a manner that is suitable
for plant operators.

PID TrainView Operator Interface Software (OIS) is a powerful tool

that overcomes the limitations of other operator interface pro-
grams. It allows you to monitor and operate Compressor Control
Corporation control systems, and it features easy-to-use graphi-
cal displays with convenient point-and-click screen navigational

Most TrainView software projects include trend screens, alarm
and event screens, and controller overview screens, in addition
to Control System Design (CSD) screens, Process & Instrumen-
tation Diagram (P&ID) screens and turbine control screens,
which provide overview and detailed views of turbomachinery
control systems, including transmitters, piping, valves, system
parameters and status indicators.
Specific and Customized Screens
TrainView software projects may also include specific duty
screens, such as compressor maps, extraction maps, generator
maps, synchronization screens, communications screens, and
archive screens.
TrainView software is flexible enough to accommodate a wide
assortment of project requirements. Customized displays, such
as maintenance screens (input/output and topology) or reports
(variables snapshot and periodic), can be tailored to provide an
optimal interface for plant operators, yet standardized displays
help keep engineering costs under control.
On-Line Operation and Control
TrainView software allows on-line operation of your turbomachin-
ery process, such as changing a controller set point. You can also
monitor the sequence of events during start-up conditions.
Alarm and Event Management
TrainView software is typically configured to alert an operator to
various types of alarm conditions that may occur in a controller,
such as a Safety On response, Recycle Trip response, or an
emergency shutdown condition in the driver. TrainView screens
can be designed to include alarm indicators and a means for
responding quickly to active alarms when they occur.
TrainView software also includes an event management system
that maintains a listing of past event recordings, in the order they
occurred, and a current log of events.
Critical Event Archiving
When a critical event occurs in a controller, TrainView software
can capture information from all the controllers surrounding the
event. You can play back information captured during the event to
analyze possible causes. Event triggers can be based on user-
defined logic in addition to preconfigured events. TrainView soft-
ware continues to monitor conditions in real time while playing
back a prerecorded event file.
