Writing

How to write an informal email?

The best advice to write an informal email often is to write as you speak, without
thinking much about what to put or include connectors or passives or long
sentences. Simple is better!
Although it is a normal email or letter, which we write in natural language, it is
important to keep in mind some aspects that will help your grade to rise.

● Informal greeting and farewell

● Address using the proper name

● Use phrasal verbs, abbreviations and acronyms

● Make contractions

● Use short and spontaneous sentences, natural language

● Avoid the infinitive and verbs of Latin origin — those similar to Spanish

Structure
Emails or informal letters have a fixed structure which we must divide into 5
parts and, at least, each one must be a paragraph. Although the normal thing is
that the body of the email or development has two or more paragraphs depending
on the number of words you want to write.
1 Initial greeting: A simple Hello or Hi is appropriate. We can also include
a colloquial version of the mythical how are you? like how are you doing?
how's everything? …
After this greeting, we move on to the next paragraph, which we can start with a
phrase of this type in the emails that ask us to respond to your friend's emails -
which is usually normal.
It's great hearing from you!
It's so good to have news from you!
I'm so happy to hear from you!
Use exclamations to express emotion, and even an emoji 😉 if you feel like it,
remember that you are writing to your friend.
2 Introduction: Unlike a formal email, the person we write to already
knows us, so we can get straight to the point. We do not need any kind of
presentation.
I can't wait to go visit you!I'm so excited about our plans together!

We are all so happy you are coming to visit!

3 Development: You have to keep the tone of your informal language,
which you can do with these tips.
● Use colloquial expressions.

● You can include familiar expressions like LOL (laughing out loud), FYI (for your
information) or TBH (to be honest) .

● Try to include some idiom

● You can simplify interrogatives and constructions

4 Farewell: The farewell of an email or informal letter must be somewhat
simple and colloquial.
I'm really looking forward to seeing you!
Can't wait to see you again! I'm so pumped up!
Speak soon,
We can include memories or greetings for friends or family.
Say hi to your folks!
Send my love to your family!
Send my love to your peeps!
5 Final greeting: We can say goodbye to our email or informal letter with
any of the following phrases.
Lots of love,
Take care,
Regards,
