Student B was exploring color mixing, using colors blue and yellow she made green.

When asked if she wanted to make green intentionally she replied “yes I wanted green
but now it's more light green and I like it even better” as she continued to create more
greens she painted her whole page with it. After she was satisfied with her green
background she began with red and yellow zig zags her reasoning for starting with
these colors is because “ I didn't touch them yet and I want to use them all” this lead her
to begin using the color red and yellow forming zig zags and slowly mixing pink, when
she made pink she exclaimed “look i made cotton candy! I didn't know I could do that!”
her exploration with paint lead her to be more thoughtful on creating new colors.
Student B was exploring the change of color from her original artwork which was green
and began layering various colors on top when asked why she began layering her green
background with blue she replied “I just want to change it so I can't see the red more
red” her interest in exploring new colors outweighed her previous decisions with color
choice. The use of new colors she made gave her the idea to create patterns over her
original heart giving her artwork a more distinguished and thought out look. When she
began seeing how her red began drying and looking deeper than before she compared
it to “this red looks like my sisters lipstick, she likes red and she likes different reds” as
she was changing colors she forgot to scrub scrub and dry dry her brush and made
brown on her paper “Oh no i made brown...I didn'tssxzdzx know brown was something i
can do” and continued to create more brown spots around her heart.
