IS USUALLY TAKEN ORALLY FOR 7
DAYS TO CURE CHLAMYDIA AND
CHANCROID.
TREATMENT FOR STI
PENICILLIN G
A single injection of long-acting Benzathine penicillin
G can cure the early stages of SYPHILIS. If the
infection has been present for an unknown length of
time, CDC recommends 3 doses of long-acting
Benzathine penicillin G per week
TREATMENT FOR STI
CEFTRIAXONE
CDC recommends a single dose of 500 mg of
intramuscular ceftriaxone. It is given once a
day for seven days for the medicine to cure
gonorrhea.
GENTAMICIN
CDC guidelines recommend 240 mg gentamicin
plus 2 g azithromycin for the treatment of
gonorrhea in cephalosporin-allergic patients.
