Day 24 - FRIDAY

NURSERY RHYMES

The Grand Old Duke of York

(March along with this one on the spot to make it more fun!)

Oh, the grand old Duke of York,

He had ten thousand men,
He marched them up to the top of the hill
And he marched them down again.

And when they were up they were up.

And when they were down they were down.
And when they were only half way up,
They were neither up nor down.

(Repeat from the top)

Day 24 - FRIDAY
EPL - Pegging exercises
This activity strengthens the child’s grip and wrists in order to improve
his ability to handle tools better, such as the pen or pencil, scissors, paint
brushes and colour pencils as well as handling the spoon, fork and knife.

Materials: tray, several pegs in a bowl, any spare basket or container

Procedure:
* Present the tray to the child as seen below.

* Demonstrate how to get 1 peg, pinch the handles using your thumb, fore
and middle fingers and peg it onto the basket or bowl.

Then invite your child to do what you

just did. If the child cannot press the handles easily, he may use the
fingers of both hands. As the child’s grip improves through constant
practice, encourage him to use only the 3 fingers of his dominant hand.
Day 24 - FRIDAY
Mathematics - Odd and Even numbers
Explain to the child that even numbers will always have a pair while odd
