Unit (3.4) English Verb Tenses - Present Simple, Past Simple, Going To LESSON TYPE:
Reading Comprehension GOALS: Students will practice and apply their understanding of
Present Simple, Past Simple, and Going To verb tenses. They will also expand their
vocabulary by learning new words from the textbook.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES: Students will be able to identify and use verbs in Present Simple,
Past Simple, and Going To tenses. They will demonstrate comprehension of the reading
passage and discuss related topics in English.
LESSON PLAN
Activity 1: (Let’s warm up!) Interaction Pattern: Teacher - Students / Time: 5 min
T: As a warm-up, let's talk about your daily routines. Do you do any activities
every day? How about in the past? What are your plans for the future?
Students discuss in pairs or share with the class.
Students read aloud parts of the text containing sentences in Present Simple, Past
Simple, and Going To.
T assists with pronunciation and clarifies any doubts.
Activity 3: Interaction Pattern: Student-Student (Pair Work, Group Work) / Time: 5 min
Vocabulary exercises 1,2: In pairs, students do the exercises from SB, page 52.
They check their answers with other pairs.
T helps if necessary and checks by asking students to read the answers.
Answers:
Exercise 1: present, flew, will go, lives, went, will visit, is playing,
studied
Exercise 2: went, lives, will visit, present, is playing, studied, flew, will
go
Activity 4: Interaction Pattern: Student-Student (Pair Work, Group Work) / Time: 5 min
T reminds students of the new vocabulary by playing a word cloud jumble game.
Students compete in large groups to find and form words related to the lesson.
