Relevance The booklet covers all literary terms secondary two students are expected to know and
understand. These terms are essential to a strong foundation in English writing and reading.
Materials/Resources Owl Booklet, English binder and pencil case, phones will be permitted after the break for

Learning Objectives Students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of three new literary terms, Simile,
Metaphor and Hyperbole. They will have learnt how to notice all three, as well as use them
within their writing.
Essential Question(s) What are the three literary terms discussed today and how are they used? Why are literary
terms important? How can I use all three terms in my writing?
Lastly, students will play the kahoot game I have prepared, Students will do:
