ABSTRACT

The Learning Management System (LMS) has emerged as one of the preferred information and

communication technology solutions by which the higher education sector seeks to manage and support

the learning experience that it provides to its students. This study is limited to design,

implementation, test and validate the designed system of learning management system in

Computer Science Department, Adamawa State University, Mubi. The Research Design used for

this project is Software development life cycle which is the most important element in software

development. It depicts the necessary phases in software development. Software development life

cycle (SDLC) is a methodology for designing, building, and maintaining information and

industrial systems. This system allows only an administrator with valid credentials to log in to

the system and manage the systems users, and content. The administrator registers every user; a

teacher after login, he or she can create his or her class, add students to class, post

announcements, a student can login to the system, view class, download materials, download

assignments, submit assignments. As a result of the increase in student day by day in the

education sector, or the need and importance to obtain knowledge whenever needed has made it

necessary to use new technologies. Recently, LMSs has taken place at the front rows of the

developing and changing technologies.
