Interview questions: Task Us

About TaskUs: “Let there be change”

TaskUs is not just a typical BPO company because they have this belief to put people
first. They believe that happy customers are only possible with happy employees. And I
love how this company empowers their people, drives their growth and of course
innovate the customer experience.

About CSR:
I applied as a teammate (agent) here in TaskUs. And as a teammate, it is my job to
handle and solve the inquiries of our customers through various channels such as voice
email, chat and sms text.

1. Could you tell me something about yourself?

Alright, I want to thank you for this opportunity and I’m very much excited for this
interview. Well, you can call me Mags, that’s my nickname. I’m the youngest sibling. At
an early age I am proud to say I discovered social media management when we started
our online thrift shop called Hiraya Kloseta, you can check it out on Facebook and IG.
My business partner and I had no budget to hire people at that time, I had to learn how
to market, communicate with my potential customers and also how to ship my products.
I started by creating a Facebook Page, Instagram Account, and preparing all the
materials. But what I enjoyed doing the most was building up my business’s digital
presence and I only realized I was already doing effective Social Media Marketing when
I started to see positive results.

And today, I saw that the company encourages people to learn and to be ridiculously
authentic. Since I mentioned that I had a partner in my online business and at the
moment, I am part of three voluntary organizations. It is because I love nothing more
than to collaborate with other people. That’s why I’m planning to take a position as a
teammate in this company because I believe that they would help me leverage skills in
technology and communication on various platforms. Aside from that, I’m looking
forward to having a deeper understanding of customer service and sales to achieve
company goals.

2. Could you introduce yourself?

3. What is your edge over the other applicants?

All candidates are doing their best to be able to pass this interview including me, but
what separates me from them is I am willing to learn and I never stop pursuing
excellence in myself and in my work. There is nothing more valuable than giving
yourself a chance to grow.

4. Why should we hire you?

I am very confident that I’m qualified in this position since I have the relevant skills that
you are looking for in a customer experience representative. During my college days, I
had been communicating with different people with different tasks to ensure the quality
of our output. I also had experiences in research, sales and marketing when we
established an online shop which made me become more detail-oriented I believe that
as a teammate, it is important that you know how to multitask, be flexible, to be
independent and I’m very much happy to share that I possess all these skills with you.

5. What are your strengths and weaknesses ? (STAR-Situation, Task, Action, Result)

My strength lies in my competitiveness and being focused. During my highschool and

college days, I was fond of joining art contests, whether it is in a form of traditional art or
digital art. Whenever I see the works of my competitors, my competitiveness starts
kicking in and I’m starting to be focused on crafting my piece. And I’m proud to say that
my efforts were not wasted because I won most of the contests I joined. For my
weakness, I tend to please everyone but because of this I received recognition and
made me great at social connections.

6. How do you see yourself 5 years from now?

5 years from now, I would hope to still be working in your company. But by then, I
believed that I would have developed skills and knowledge that made me gain
recognition and to allow me to lead a team in your company.
7. Why do you want to work for us?

It's because TaskUs’ digital initiatives perfectly complement their People-First culture.
And I also want to be part of the team who utilize these innovative technologies to
provide an excellent customer experience.

8. What motivates you to work?

Failure. Its because when I have something to do, I’m already expecting to commit
mistakes or failure at some point. I already know that I have something to learn from it.
When I fail, I see myself growing and achieving milestones little by little. And that’s what
motivates me to work.

9. How do you handle stress?

I'm not a fan of handling stress. I don't handle stress, I handle the situation/problem that
causes the stress. First thing I do is validate what's happening then accept it so I won't
dwell on it for a long period of time because it would just hinder me from making
progress.

10. How do you handle pressure ?

I'm not a fan of handling pressure. I don't handle pressure, I handle the
situation/problem that causes the pressure. First thing I do is validate what's happening
then accept it so I won't dwell on it for a long period of time because it would just hinder
me from making progress.
STAR QUESTIONS:

1. Tell me about time when you were a leader:

When I was a sophomore, we had an all day camp in school and I had a chance to be
the team leader. Even though there were activities that were unfamiliar to me, I was
actually chill at that time because I really wanted to do it. So, I had to delegate the tasks,
I had to make the final decisions and of course, look after the whole Patrol/team. It was
a huge learning experience for me as it was not only my first time I had to lead
something. Overall, it taught me how a leader should get people to work together rather
than just giving them orders.

2. Tell me about time you failed

Honestly, I like to think of failure as a learning experience rather than a problem. For me
one of the failures I had in the business industry is when I let our business sleep for a
long time because I was too overwhelmed by the competitors. It was a heavy realization
for me and luckily because of that I had been given time to study more to improve our
strategies in the digital world.

3. Tell me about time you stepped out of your comfort zone

When I got hired for a job for the first time . I applied as a fast food crew. I was not
prepared because I had to memorize the whole menu, I had to take orders, I had to
keep the waiting line short and I had to deal with different customers. I really got scared
because it’s unfamiliar and not because I'm incapable. And I’m thankful that I had to be
uncomfortable at some point because it gave myself an opportunity to grow.
