MoM MPCL, Head Office Islamabad

Held on 25-08-2022

1. Meeting was organized at MPCL Head Office Islamabad to present salient features &
functionalities of GES (Geological Evaluation System) software a product of
Goldensun Petroleum Services & Technology, as well as the project services related
technical skills. MPCL team was headed by Mr. Zahid Aziz Sb along with exploration
& reservoir team (Asad-ur-Rehman, Aamir Khan, Syed Abid Raza Zaidi, Saud Latif, Ali
Hameed, Masab Toosy, Azhar-ul-Haq & rest team members) and GPST team headed
by Mr. Ghulam Shabeer along with Masood Akhtar, Mohsin Abbas, Aliya Batool,
Abdul Haseeb, Muhammad Shahbaz (physically) & Sherry Qin, Abid Hussain Bhatti,
Arshad Majeed, Salem Zakri, Abdul Razzaq Amin, Ana de Sousa, and Bahar
Nik(online).

2. GPST company introduction was presented by Ms Sherry Qin. She briefed about the
history of the company, its global presence and great initiative with worldwide
geosciences & engineering departments in the universities and laboratories. Under
the enlightened vision University of the Punjab has been granted USD 1 MM in the
form of GES software licenses, while collaboration with Center for Pure & Applied
Geology of Sindh University Jamshoro to establish GPST lab in order to bridge the
gap between E&P industry and the academia in Pakistan, similar efforts have been
in progress with other Pakistani institutes as well. The ongoing & upcoming projects
and the technicalities also came under discussion.

3. Mr. Ghulam Shabeer presented about the technical features and cost saving
potential of the software platform GES. It was described that GES can provide great
opportunity to establish a common database for analysis and integration of geology,
geophysics, petrophysics, sedimentology, and petroleum engineering dataset.
Particularly, One Button Static Modeling Approach in GES can deliver on fast track
geo-modeling results with high realistic estimations.

4. Mr Zahid Aziz asked about the capabilities of GES software, for which GPST team
explained that GES software is fully equipped to cater the needs and tasks related to
2D & 3D geological modelling, petrophysical log interpretation, facies analysis,
reservoir data analytics, well planning, resource/reserves estimation etc. in user
friendly manner.

5. MPCL team raised query about the number of users, clients using GES.
GPST team informed them that CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC, Yanchang Oil, NewCross
Petroleum, PetroTrace Services, Jefferies Consulting, etc. There are more than 3000
licenses sold in China to large NOCs. Users are mainly at the trial stage in Pakistan,
Egypt, Nigeria and the US. However, CNPC’s E&P Research Institute is using GES to
perform studies for overseas projects which CNPC is in charge of developing. Apart
from this GES is being used by CNPC in Middle-east, Central Asia and Africa based
offices covering operations in more than 20 countries. GPST has got Patents: 22
Software Copyrights: 91

6. Mr. Saud Latif asked whether GES is compatible with other industry standard
Softwares. GPST replied that GES accepts almost all data/model format of industry
standard softwares. Input data of well headers, well tops, log curves, surface data,
line data, seismic data, field production data etc in quick & easy manner to load in
GES after exporting from other softwares along with CRS. Fault model, grid/property
model will remain intact in GES environment and is editable or could be re-modelled
as per the requirement. In other words, both data and grid loaded into GES can be
modified and edited.

7. It was raised by Mr Zahid Aziz about the application of GES to Exploration phase
activity. GPST informed that GES has detailed module for the resource/reserves
estimation (slides for reserves estimation are attached).

8. Study Project Services of GPST were presented by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) of
discipline 3D Static Modeling, Reservoir Engineering, Petrophysics, operations
geology (Ms Ana de Sousa, Mr Salem Zakri, Ms Bahar Nik, Mr Mohsin Abbas).

9. Mr Zahid Aziz enquired about the GPST registration with DGPC for reserves
certification. GPST team replied that it is under process and expecting to be listed on
DGPC panel soon.
10. MPCL advised to provide GES demo license for evaluation process. GPST agreed and
demo license of GES will be provided soon.
