Subject: Usability Testing for Juggling a Soccer Ball

Dear Content Director,

The How to Juggle a Soccer Ball instruction manual has passed usability testing. Users' opinions
of the instructions' graphics, setup, notes, and video were generally positive, it was discovered.
However, a few adjustments must be performed in order to improve the instructions. The
following modifications have beenwill need to be made to the mockup that is given with the
following memo:

 The spelling error in Step 2 has been fixed.

 The video is now playable.
 Steps flow after Step 8 into Step 9.
 There has been an added warning at the beginning of the instructions to let the user
know that this task is of harder difficulty.
 Images are now larger and more present.
Once the changes shown in the following memo have been approved, we will perform a follow
up usability test to ensure all changes made have improved the instructions.

Thanks,

Isabella Grady

Subject Line: Juggling a Soccer Ball Usability Testing

Three users took part in the evaluation process for the "How to Juggle a Soccer Ball" usability
test, which was completed successfully. Significant feedback has been gathered, and it will be
crucial in improving the different aspects that need work.

Summary
The educational design was generally well-liked by the users. The use of graphics was thought to
be particularly advantageous. It was highlighted that the arrows in the photographs were not
given enough importance and should be made more obvious to avoid being missed. Users also
found the provision of further remarks to be helpful in clarifying any ambiguity. The video
component first experienced technical problems, requiring separate playback, it was discovered.
In the end, people thought these instructions had a somewhat high level of difficulty. Users also
praised the instructional format for its positive approval. However, it is crucial to note that a
spelling issue in Step 2 was discovered by them, highlighting the significance of rigorous
proofreading. A correction was required since Step 9 was mistakenly given as Step 1 near the
end of the instructions, which was another significant inconsistency that was discovered.
According to users' evaluations, the directions could be a little bit more difficult. Last but not
least, it was noticed that some image arrows were drawn with more prominence and boldness
for better clarity.

Results
Users reported a high level of ease in utilizing the provided instructions. The benefits,
usefulness, and applicability of the supplementary graphics were broadly agreed upon. The
supplemental notes successfully reduced any uncertainty that consumers could have
experienced. Notably, the film required separate replay because of technological difficulties, but
in the end, it significantly helped users do soccer ball juggling, exceeding their initial
expectations.
Finding 1
The instructions need to be proofread again. One out of three users pointed out the misspelling
of “your” in Step Two. This didn’t cause confusion for understanding the step. However, the
user was distracted from the step because it was noticeable. The user stated, “This word was
spelled incorrectly.”
Recommendation 1
Step 2's correction of the grammar error by changing the word "your" to "you're" makes it
possible for people to engage with the information without running into any annoying
grammatical problems. The solution is now more accessible and user-friendly as a result of this
improvement, which considerably enhances the entire user experience.
Finding 2
The inability of all users to play the video smoothly within the instructional layout became
apparent after all of the instructions had been followed. Because separate access was required
for the video, precious user time that could have been used for uninterrupted instruction
viewing was unintentionally wasted. Users thought the video to be really helpful after it started.
Once the video played, users found the video beyond useful. One user stated, "the video makes
it look too easy".
Recommendation 2
The previously inaccessible movie has been painstakingly restored and flawlessly reintegrated
into the instructional material in response to user complaints. As a result of this upgrade,
viewers may now easily access and enjoy the video without the need for further help or
workarounds, facilitating a user-friendly experience. The effective reintegration of this priceless
multimedia component is a huge enhancement that improves the depth and potency of the
educational material, greatly enhancing user experience and learning outcomes.
Finding 3
One out of three users noticed an inconsistency in the sequencing of the steps. Specifically
identifying that following step 8 was step 1 and when it should be step 9. This insightful
comment demonstrated that the user quickly identified the mistake, avoiding any uncertainty or
misunderstanding that may have developed had they assumed it was supposed to be the first
step in the process.
Recommendation 3
Step 8 has been seamlessly transitioned into Step 9 thanks to the diligent correction of the issue
that was shortly after Step 8. This large modification not only improves the instructional
content's overall coherence, but it also considerably improves the user experience. Therefore,
any potential users who interact with this content will avoid any potential confusion that might
have existed in the past, creating an atmosphere that is more user-friendly and error-free.
Finding 4
Following the completion of the given instructions, the response from all three users revealed a
common viewpoint: juggling a soccer ball was noticeably harder than initially thought. This
discovery highlighted the critical need of clearly defining expectations because failure to do so
might result in user irritation and self-doubt, mostly due to their inability to quickly learn the
skill. The need for thorough and correct training in instructional materials is further highlighted
by this user perspective, ensuring that students approach the work with a realistic grasp of any
obstacles they may face.
Recommendation 4
We've added a proactive approach by adding a warning at the start of the step-by-step
instructions to address the issue of users underestimating the task's difficulty. This caution helps
to establish realistic expectations by outlining the difficult nature of the undertaking.
Additionally, a helpful statement has been thoughtfully placed to reassure users that it's normal
to not be able to master the skill right away and to emphasize the importance of practice in
becoming proficient.
Finding 5
Many viewers found it difficult to see the arrows in the pictures; some were concerned about
their visibility, while others just didn't see them. This problem is especially problematic since
users are deprived of crucial information when they are unable to recognize these arrows,
which could lead to uncertainty about the visual content and its intended interpretation. This
undermines the educational materials' effectiveness, highlighting the urgent need for a fix to
resolve the problem and guarantee a smoother user experience.
Recommendation 5
The educational materials' graphic components have undergone a sizable improvement as a
result of user input. The once-small arrows have grown larger and become more noticeable.
This tactical change aims to make it easier for users to understand the advice provided by the
accompanying visuals, resulting in a more effective and seamless comprehension of the
suggested actions. The user's experience is much enhanced and their ability to understand the
specific instructions depicted in the graphics is noticeably increased by enhancing the visibility
and clarity of these arrows, thereby supporting a more effective learning process.

Conclusion
The crucial user input received during the "How to Juggle a Soccer Ball" usability testing phase
has proven to be a cornerstone in improving the training materials. Each improvement has been
painstakingly executed to improve the user experience and has been sparked by these insights.
We strongly believe that these adjustments will significantly aid future users in their quest to
acquire this talent, hence their anticipated impact will go well beyond the present context. Our
dedication to quality continues after these modifications are incorporated; we are committed to
a continuous process of review and improvement. In light of this, we continue to be steadfast in
our dedication to carrying out additional testing to confirm that the changes made have had the
desired impact, ensuring that the instructional content continues to be both educational and
accessible for all users—past and present.
