Referred Document:
Illustrated Parts List (AP-715), Chapter 32-40-98; Revision: 9; Dated: Jan 29/2013.

FOLLOW ALL THE CAUTIONS & WARNINGS MENTIONED IN CHAPTER DISASSEMBLY, CLEANING, CHECK,
ASSEMBLY & TEST IN CMM 32-40-98 (As applicable).

A MANUAL & S.B. STATUS:
1 Check that the procedure sheet is current.
2 Check that the CMM revision status is current.
Check the history card of the unit & ensure that all the relevant SB/SIL is reflected properly on

the history cards.
B INCOMING INSPECTION/ VISUAL CHECK:
1 Make a visual inspection of the wheel assembly.
2 Check the Main Wheel Assembly for any apparent damage, etc.
NOTE: See TESTING AND FAULT ISOLATION for operational test and fault isolation procedures
to establish condition of wheel and determine extent of disassembly required.
3 Serviceability of aircraft wheels subjected to rolling with a flat or a disintegrated tire or
overloading caused by a mating wheel that has rolled with a flat or disintegrated tire, should
be checked in accordance with CHECK section.
C DISASSEMBLY:
1 Check the wheel assembly for creep before deflation and disassembly.
2 Carry out disassemble the wheel assembly as per page 301 to 304 (As required)
3 Do not remove the instruction wheel plate or warning data plate unless it is necessary to replace it or if the
paint must be removed.
D CLEANING:
1 Carry out the cleaning of the main wheel assembly as per CMM page 401 to 408 (as required)
CAUTION: CAREFULLY CLEAN THE BEARING CONES IN A SEPARATE CONTAINER OF
CLEANING SOLVENT TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION.
2 Clean all metal parts by dry-cleaning solution and Blue Gold as applicable. Use a soft bristle brush to
remove hardened grease, dust and dirt. Deposits and scale on wheel bolts may be removed with a soft
wire brush.
CAUTION: DO NOT TURN THE BEARING CONES WITH COMPRESSED AIR TO PREVENT
CONTAMINATION.
3 Dry all metal parts, thoroughly after cleaning, using filtered and dried compressed air.
NOTE: Ensure that foreign materials and solvents have been removed from all cavities,
threaded holes, pockets and other areas where entrapment might occur.
Clean all rubber parts in isopropyl alcohol, SpecificationTT-I-735 and dry with a clean soft

cloth.
5 Paint Remove/ replace if require as given in REPAIR
E CHECK AND INSPECTION
1 Do the check procedure in clean conditions.
Carry out check of the main wheel assembly in general wheel inspection and special cases for
2
wheel and its expandables as per CMM page 501 to 514 (as required)
Carry out Nondestructive Testing with Procedures for Ultrasonic Inspection, Eddy Current
3 Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection and Penetrant Inspection per NDTM AP-763 as
required and attached report as necessary. Report No:………………………

F REPAIR
1 Carry out approved repair as per CMM REPAIR section page 601 to 642 if required.
2 Carry out various repair if required, follow Repair 1 to 9. as per CMM REPAIR section.
3 Carry out painting of wheel assembly if required as per CMM REPAIR section figure 609
(Painting Diagram); page 626 to 632 as applicable.
G ASSEMBLY AND STORAGE
Carry out assembling of wheel assembly as per CMM, assembly section's IPL figure 1 and
1
page 701 to 710. (as required)
2 Install valve core in valve stem. Place wheel/tire assembly in an inflation cage and inflate tire
just enough to seat beads.
3 Do an operational test (leak test) on the wheel/tire assembly as told in the TESTING AND
FAULT ISOLATION section.
4 Deflate the tire to storage pressure of 40 psig (2,8 bar) or manufacturer recommended
pressure. Install the valve cap on the valve stem. Remove the wheel assembly from the
5 inflation cage.
Record tire changes on tire change counter as shown in CMM page 716, Figure 706 on
demountable flange or demountable flange wheel subassembly.
6 Carry out balancing of wheel assembly if required as per CMM page 716 to 717.
7 Install bearings cones, bearing seals and grease retaining rings as per CMM page 712 to 714.
Refer figure 704 on page 713 and figure 705 on page 715.
8 Cover hub opening of outboard and inboard hub opening of the demountable flange wheel
sub-assembly to seal the bearings from dirt and moisture until the wheel is installed on the
aircraft.
9 Apply Placard and paint on Creep Mark.
10 Documentation completed.

It is hereby certify that the work specified above except as otherwise specified, has been carried out in
accordance with NCAR-145 and in respect to that work, the aircraft component is considered ready for release to
service.
